John McCain "Trump poorly informed". This is rich.

I see literally nothing wrong with what McCain said in the opening post.

No, you don't get to dodge the argument with your "but Hillary" tangent. Please explain how repealing Glass-Steagall, an effort spearheaded and supported unanimously by Republicans, is a sign of Democrats being more supportive of Wall Street OR less "financially literate". Stand by your initial point or concede.

I actually wasn't aware so many Republicans voted for it. I'll give you that. So yea, both parties are pretty much pro Wall Street, anti main street.

Working class republicans want to get rid of the ACA.

Well until they realized that's the insurance they're on and now they don't want to see it go.

Keep trying trump ball huggers, you're failing miserably

No they didn't. Obamacare has over 50% support from the people and the abomination they tried to rush through Congress had what, less than 15%?

I think McCain is borderline senile at this point but he was on the right side of history on this issue. Voting for that shitty bill would mean betraying his constituents and it was very responsible of him to answer to them instead of towing the party line like so many spineless Republicans did.
Yes, they absolutely did. I don't know what you've been watching. You can debate the approval rating all you want, doesn't change the fact that almost every republican has been saying that for years. Yes the bill was shit, that's not the point. They've had 7 years to figure out a replacement and now that they control everything they're sitting on their thumbs.

Republicans got the lead they have right now because of issues unrelated to Obamacare. The people still support it (as shown when Republicans got their shit pushed in by angry constituents).

I agree that them spending years and years bitching about it only to fail to repeal it when the odds are strongly in their favor is a monumental failure (their timing is also shit because Obamacare has popular support), but you used this point to bash McCain which is incredibly shortsighted. This wasn't an individual failure by McCain and criticizing him for it is foolish.

If the bill is shit, if anything he should be aplauded for standing up against it as it signals, as he said, answering to the people. Repealing Obamacare, replacing it with that pile of shit and leaving his constituents out to dry would've been what would get him and his fellow Republicans voted out.

Based on nothing but rumors from some guys in 'Nam

But when people say something bad about Trump he won't accept it.
Oh I know exactly where it comes from. I just want him to own it. But instead, he's going the route of a little punk bitch.

John McCain is letting his personal feelings for Trump get in the way of doing his job. Its surprising that the GOP is just wasting this entire opportunity they have. Its like they don't even dare to try.

McCain is spot on here, actually. Everything he said is accurate and honest, two things we rarely get from Trump.

McCain has been a horrible, atrocious, war hawk for decades. His departure from politics will be a great gain for society.

It's so refreshing to have a non-interventionist like Trump getting the US back on track and re-ramping the war up in Afghanistan. Good riddance to dirty war hawks!

Millions upon millions disagree.

Millions upon millions disagree.

Millions upon millions like that Kardashian show and still listen to rap too. Counting fools is easy with a population of 300 million. I'll take John McCain's word and service to this country 100% of the time over Trump's.

It's kind of ironic, this thread is meant to bash McCain but pretty much everything he said in the OP's quote is spot on.

1. Trump has the authority and responsability of POTUS, and that (not the man himself necessarily) should be respected.

2. Congress should, in theory, cooperate with him if it means doing right by the people.

3. They are not his minions or underlings.

4. They are, in fact, meant to act as a check on him (y'know, the old "checks and balances" boring stuff you overheard in civics class).

5. They have a responsability towards the people who elected them.

6. Above being Republicans or Democrats they are, first of all, congressmen.

I'm not saying he necessarily acts upon those words, but the statement itself is actually very much praiseworthy.

Yeah, I agree that McCain just made an intelligent, accurate, and level headed statement, which is somehow being seen as a bad thing. Bizarre.

Some people are too stupid and lazy to actually read beyond the title.
