John Cena lifting

can anyone elaborate on the chains?

Makes the movement harder as the lift goes on. At the start of the rep most of the chains are on the floor, but as the bar goes up so do the chains and BAM BITCH! so does the amount of weight your lifting. Makes the lockout much harder than it normally is.

Very impressed, especially considering he comes from a bodybuilding background. While the most I've seen from wrestling in the last decade is the 2 minutes I see it after Law and Order: SVU goes off, I would never have expected that from this guy. Glad to be surprised.

So long as we're on the topic, is there any way to make a squat, deadlift or bench press harder at the bottom and easier at the top, other than having spotters help lift the bar as it gets higher? (Or having them push down on the bar at the bottom?)

Pause reps for bench press and squats make getting out of the hole much harder.

Deadlift from a deficit (on a box) will help with off the floor strength.

Dave Tate has talked about some weight releasers in some of his articles. Didn't look into them much

John Cena is a beast, he's a combo of Solid Work Ethic + Good S&C Coach + Good Genetics + Roids

Watch for the edited and unedited versions of the video. CNN edits it very carefully yo make it look like he admits to steroid use. The unedited version is first.

I searched for Cena and didn't see it, but searching for Cena right now doesn't bring this thread up, either. Do you know if this aired on TV?

no clue if it was aired on tv? But I do remember it being in a thread already, dunno why it won't show on searches...

You could deadlift off of a magnetic floor, or have magnets hovering over the plates on the bar, so that as you lift the weight, it gets closer to the magnets and they add more assistance.

Good video and nice lifts. But as others have already pointed out, the guy is on roids. Still respectable though, looks like a hardworking guy.

Closest I can come up with is bottom startin' squats and bench, where you use a rack to start with the bar in the bottom position (thank you, Brooks Kubrick)... Otherwise, I dont really see how ya could, or why you'd want to...

wha in the world?

I don't normally post stuff like this but I saw this video on Marunde's forum and was impressed with how John Cena lifts weights. The video shows squats, deadlifts, pull-ups, among other things.
