Joey Beltran arguably beat Stipe and at very least fight could have gone either way

Joey Beltran coming for that Middleweight Strap.

Christ is he on meth??

Ya Beltran looks like a PEZ dispensor @185,that dude is as tough as they come tho,he was getting tagged when he fought Berry &TeHuna &managed 2last the entire fight &was still some what dangerous.i think Stipes oh shit moment, not that it matters now,is rd1 vs SDR(rip)he was taking it2 Stipe,u could see it on Stipe face like a wtf am i gonna do look, but u could also see the look on his face@the end of rd1 when he got the take down &let SDR back up &he had a look on his face of relief, like wheeew,i figured u out.now i no wtf 2do.

Beltran must be one of the least skilled fighters recently in the UFC, but his badassness and chin made him a treat to watch. Plus, like already mentioned, he was a MW facing HW's.
hespek.
No hespect when you only fight at HW because you are too lazy to train hard and fight at your natural weight.

It's almost as if Stipe has improved over time.

Conor lost to a flyweight. Fedor would've probably lost a decision to Arona under any other ruleset. Anderson got finished by a guy with a losing record prior to becoming MW champion. Ivan Menjivar gave GSP a tough fight and was only finished under very weird circumstances. These fights are fun to look back on, but the reality is not even the best fighters in the history of the sport are world beaters from day 1.
End of thread.

Exactly. But the UFC shills will cry when they realize that a mid level Bellator MW almost beat their precious HW champion.
You do realize that joey Beltran was on steroids for this fight right . I remember reading this somewhere correct me if I'm wrong

5 years ago, joey was a vet and stipe was still fairly greeen
