Joe Schilling sucker punching drunk guy

It sucks that the drunk guy acted the way he did, and made Joe feel that way. Had the guy said "Hey sorry" after bumping into him, it probably would have gone better. Unfortunately the guy didn't act that way and it made Joe feel threatened and it was within his rights to defend himself. It's a shitty situation for sure.
Dont get me wrong, I dont care Schilling suckerpunched that guy. Its just hilarious all around. Especially the guys name being Balboa.

You know what, i forgive Joe

It was the height of the pandemic lol

He felt threatened lol

That reminds me of this early South Park. You're not allowed to shoot animals unless you feel threatened...so just yell "it's coming right for us!" before shooting.

I don't know why this thread has regurgitated, maybe the case got thrown out this morning? I hope so - I'm ok with that drunk guy getting punched. Fuck that guy. But let's not lie to ourselves and others with the idea that Joe actually felt threatened at any point during this engagement.

Hopefully you were being facetious and it went over my head....

Not a Schilling fan but I have no problem with the decision. The second that dude feinted I lost all sympathy for him. By all accounts he’s had it coming for a while. Schilling could have handled it better but it is what it is.

It’s rare someone acting like a jackass and picking fights gets laid out. It’s even more rare when they can’t play the victim afterwards.
"by all accounts he's had it coming for a while" what are you basing this off of, do you know him? i think you've had it coming for awhile and I'd love to be the one to give it to ya!.

Jesus Christ lol

How many 'doggers are gonna go out and provoke an untrained guy half their size into sticking up for himself after these updates???

Well, if I knew him I wouldn’t have said “by all accounts.”

Well done, dumbass. In your case, you’re a twit because I’ve actually seen it first hand.

By what accounts? where you Joe, and Cerrone sitting around drinking Natty light chewing Red Man and scratching your balls telling tales?

Looks like Joe purposely walked into the dude as he
the guy was engaged with/talking to guy in front of him tbh

It's crazy how the talk shit get hit only applies to certain situations on sherdog. It's almost like most of them identify with Balboa, a drunk beta who has probably threatened people for years while drunk with no consequences until now

Tou just admitted it wasnt self defense with the "talk shit get hit..." lol

Was he talking shit??? Or was he an actual threat??

"Beta" doesnt help either...neither does Joe being a much bigger pro

Good for Joe he got off.

God bless mma fans

Didn't he claim he swung on him because he was "afraid" of the little man he was towering over who was NOT a professional fighter.. hmmmm...
hmmmm....

In real life people can have knives, guns, broken beer bottles etc... being bigger, professional fighter doesn't make you superman.

The simple fact that this small drunk guy was emboldened enough to get in Joe's face is a hint that he could be carrying and so joe was right to end the threat immediately.

I wish I had the energy to go through the thread and find all the people who promised me joe was fucked. Wannabe lawyers lolll
Are you a lawyer? It's a forum, it's meant for people to give their opinion. So by your way of thinking not a single soul here, including you should comment on MMA since we're all wannabe fighters? Give me a break quoting everyone that had a different opinion than yours, you really have too much time on your hands man, chill.

Regarding Joe feeling threatened or whatever-do morons in this thread still have to be reminded of how legal shit works? Do you think Joe was supposed to say,"I just knocked the guy out because he was an asshole"? Both parties in that situation were in the wrong, but people being incredulous about Joe's defense...my god. This still has to be explained to actual adults somehow. It was a ridiculous defense that was played by the book and it worked. Balboa's lawyer sounds more ridiculous than some of the posters in this thread, Bob Loblaw could've at least gotten some easy money out of such an easy case.

Joe never explained why his buddy was prerecording him getting back from the restroom and purposely interact with the ''bully drunk dude''. If this isn't some fucked up premeditated shit I don't know what is.

''oh my friend was filming because the terrifying aggro Balboa dude was being a bully to other people and I wanted proof that if I passed by him he would do something to me, but hey that was self defense, right?"

He didn't sucker punch him. The guy yelled at him to get his attention, puffed up his chest, stood toe to toe with him and tried to intimidate Joe schilling. There was no sucker punch.

One of them walks in a straight line.
One stumbles backwards into the guy walking in a straight line.

But yeah man Joe intentionally ran into him.

There's a difference between having an opinion. I am calling out people who had an opinion, were adamant they were right and called other people dumb for thinking he had any shot of getting this outcome
