Yeah, he accidentally backed into Schilling, who just kind of brushed him aside and kept walking, thinking nothing of it. Until the guy screamed at him, puffed his chest up and acted like he was gonna let them hands go. Everyone in this situation could have handled it better. I hope they all learned a lesson.

Damn, surprised at the outcome. If Joe is such a highly trained fighter, why didn't he just circle back and away from the guy?

Did he never learn movement in the ring?

Didn't he claim he swung on him because he was "afraid" of the little man he was towering over who was NOT a professional fighter.. hmmmm...

hmmmm....

Any one defending this guy is a real piece of shit as well. It is amazing how many there are reading these responses - this seems pretty fucking cut and dry.

Fuck all of you defending him, and fuck him. Hope he rots.
Cut and dry all right. Innocent and immunity to civil suits. Have a good day

You have to prove he was a threat. Not the other way around. That's how positive evidence works, but you're not intelligent enough that's why you feel so threatened. I understand why everything is threatening to you now. It must be hard being in a world where you don't understand what's happening half the time.
This aged well. Good thing you're not a lawyer

That's assault, 100% can go to jail for that. Hes claiming self-defense to protect his ass, but the video shows no punch thrown by the other guy, therefore it's assault. If the guy press charges, and lets say he got really fucked up, yeah Joe is in big trouble.

Edit: if their's no major injuries maybe not jail time but a big fine
Or innocent with immunity from civil suits! Good call

Any more of your fruity fantasies of some 5'7 office nerd looking at you the wrong way so you can sucker punch him that you'd like to share with the karate forum? Do the women start swooning after you've proven what a badass you are in your little fantasy?

<{Heymansnicker}>
Surprised you weren't happy joe flexed his stand your ground right.

Perhaps the fact that so many sherdoggers think chilig was justified is partially caused by the same reason why there are so many people assaulting others in bars etc.their idea of what is legally right and wrong seems informed more by Hollywood than by any proper study into the matter.
Wow great take. Guess it is you who doesn't understand legal rights. Fail

Other guy should have walked out to his lifted truck and got his gun, came back and shot him. That is the usual case for "stand your ground" in Florida. Cowards and losers shooting people.

Nah, usual case for "stand your ground" is some scumbag criminal preying on weak victims. Then the criminal gets shot. Sounds ok in my book. Noone should be able to take someone's right to defend themselves away from them.

It's almost like there are things in this world that could help a smaller person harm a larger person...

hmmmmmm....

His defense was that he "felt threatanated".
It sucks that the drunk guy acted the way he did, and made Joe feel that way. Had the guy said "Hey sorry" after bumping into him, it probably would have gone better. Unfortunately the guy didn't act that way and it made Joe feel threatened and it was within his rights to defend himself. It's a shitty situation for sure.

It's crazy how the talk shit get hit only applies to certain situations on sherdog. It's almost like most of them identify with Balboa, a drunk beta who has probably threatened people for years while drunk with no consequences until now

it's almost like the larger professional fighter saw nothing that would help the smaller person harm him and just overreacted and conveniently had it filmed..

hmmmm...
