Joe Schilling sucker punching drunk guy

Joe never explained why his buddy was prerecording him getting back from the restroom and purposely interact with the ''bully drunk dude''. If this isn't some fucked up premeditated shit I don't know what is.

''oh my friend was filming because the terrifying aggro Balboa dude was being a bully to other people and I wanted proof that if I passed by him he would do something to me, but hey that was self defense, right?"

You don't think Balboa's lawyer brought that up?

I wish I had the energy to go through the thread and find all the people who promised me joe was fucked. Wannabe lawyers lolll
My favorite is still all the people who insisted that Werdum would go to jail for "assault with a deadly weapon" after throwing a package at Colby.

It's going to be hard to ever top that one.

Schilling is a piece of shit plain and simple. The guy did nothing wrong. It was a provoked attack, and being a professional fighter should have played a role in the decision. dude hire a terrible lawyer, this should have been a slam dunk win for the guy half joes size whose NOT a pro fighter that was shoved initially BY joe and got his teeth knocked out for it.
Tell it to the judge

It was a drunk guy dancing in a bar - not like it was somebody breaking into his house.

Some of you guys are legit cowards.
Yes no drunk people at bars carry knives or weapons in the US lol

You should file a civil suit on Balboa's behalf. Oh wait he's immune! USA! USA! Great country with great stand your ground laws. You should be happy with that screen name

Ain't a lawyer, so I don't know. I presume they did. Now what you're implying is that since Joe was found not guilty in the end, that it was a non issue to the judge, it still doesn't explain his motive to why he would film it in the first place, if not to capture a reaction or an imminent event. I personally find it very questionable. I guess we'll never know. I guess Joe had very good lawyers.

Not a Schilling fan but I have no problem with the decision. The second that dude feinted I lost all sympathy for him. By all accounts he’s had it coming for a while. Schilling could have handled it better but it is what it is.

It’s rare someone acting like a jackass and picking fights gets laid out. It’s even more rare when they can’t play the victim afterwards.

Exactly the way I look at it too.

Joes lucky he didnt get shot or stabbed or rat packed by 10 dudes. He picks on weak ass bitch made fools. In my area right now there are places and bars where he would never pull that shit cause hed be bottled, shot, stabbed, jumped or all the above. Street fights are dumb as fuck and mostly avoidable. This fight was 100 avoidable i dont care what any of you assholes that think otherwise say. Hes a pro fighter with lethal punches, elbows, kicks and knees and knows how to wrestle and fight on the ground to boot. He has no business knocking out drunk, smaller frat boys over bro challenges. He coulda Nate Diaz'ed dude and guillotined him and choked him or just held him there cause dude wouldnt get out.. Minute you throw them hands and ko dude theres always risk dude will die from hitting his head on groulnd. Schilling got lucky all the way around.

I bartended for 20 years. I’ve witnessed this exact scenario probably 50 times or more. Schilling does exactly what you do when a drunk guy accidentally backs into you. You “guide” them out of your way and keep it moving.

Drunk guy apparently doesn’t like it and escalates the situation. Once he pumpfakes it’s go time. I have no sympathy for him. A man has the right to protect himself. Period. Doesn’t matter if he’s Fedor or Joe Dumbass. Those rights don’t change.

One of them walks in a straight line.
One stumbles backwards into the guy walking in a straight line.

But yeah man Joe intentionally ran into him.

Apparently Joe's blind or visually impaired lol.

At what point was Joe gonna sidestep? Your own words indicate Joe was walking rifht towards him.

I LOVE mma fans

This is in the nice strip area of downtown Fort Lauderdale on the water with bunch of high end shoppes and expensive ice cream. It's a regular nicer burger bar equivalent to a Tap 42 or World of Beer. Getting stomped out in Downton Fort Lauderdale happens few blocks from this spot. This isn't the spot you'd think if you're looking to pick a fight in downtown. Could easily light up any drunk fool walking by after a certain time of day any day lol

Wait, so, he should've pulled a Diaz - which included removing consciousness and dropping dude on his head, causing the prevailing injury in that encounter - to avoid the risk of dropping an unconscious person on their head?

The only correct thing to do in that situation is to follow Bas Rutten's self-defense-video advice: create distance, grab a chair, stab them in the liver.

Wait so is it premeditated murder when a cop has a bodycam on while shooting someone in self defense?
The whole point of a bodycam is to justify deadly force.
