Joe Rogan on Russian sports "All Their athletes are amateurs"

Russian hackers are gonna break into Rogan's computer and put a lot of career-ending furry porn in it.

lol you must've not understood all of it.
the russian football league i sbetter than the MLS and their participate in the champions league, which generates more revenue than NFL and whose final is more watched than the superball or whatever the fuck it's called. (I know it must come as a shock to you, but check it)
Rogan is ignorant on this subject, as on many others, and people who don't know any better believe him
EDIT : i did a bit of research on the subject and the champions league's final audience is 3x the superball audience, so it's MUCH bigger
lol at saying the Russian league is better than the MLS, not because it isn't but because you're making it looking like it means much. Yeah, they have teams in the UCL, so does Azerbaijan for example.

Russian league and their players are pretty meh taking out a few exceptions.

Well, on many occasions he has acknowledged the fact that he only pays attention to combat sports. Shouldn’t surprise anyone that he has no knowledge on this topic.

Joe Rogan is saying "we have to realise that their best athletes are all amateurs.. They don't have professional sports"

Matt Brown: boxing?

Rogan: "yeah, but that's it, they don't have.. well they have mma too Fedor obviously right but they don't have like NFL, NBA, Major league Baseball, HOCKEY.. they don't have like this professional venue like we do over here, so a lot of their greatest athletes go into amateur Olympics so they are juicing these people up for Soviet glory...

I like Joe and i find his podcast very good when he has interesting guests but to say that Russia don't have professional sports or a professional venue is very ignorant. First of all, the sports he is mentioning NBA (Basketball), MLB (Baseball), NFL(American Football) is almost exclusively played in Usa, there are very few European players in those sports..

Hockey.. The Russian hockey league is only 2nd to NHL and Russia has a very strong national hockey team (they won the world cup 2009, 2012, 2014) with many players playing in KHL.. They regularly have top 10 draft picks (5 since 2015) and in the 2004 draft Ovechkin was no.1 and Malkin was no.2 and they became big stars..

Their football league (Soccer for Americans) holds a higher level of playing than MLS and is ranked statistically better by the american web news Blecher report
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1458287-ranking-the-top-20-world-football-leagues-statistically

Russia and northern Europe favors track and field, and winter sports like skiing (because the american sports are not popular in Europe) and you can compete in competitions other than the Olympics.. Where they are very successful..

Even hockey players in the NHL or KHL?

Amateur and professional are very vague terms and in the sports world they can mean different things. In boxing it means you get paid if you are pro.

However the standard for being a pro in boxing is only to do paperwork and you can get licensed without an amateur career. Pro doesnt mean better than amateur it mostly just means cash money.

Pro boxers are now allowed to enter the olympics and all of them got shut out by amateurs.

So I think when Joe says Russians are amateur he just means they don't have the professional, capitalistic style sports in russia and to that degree he isnt conpletely off the mark.

Throws shade implying Fedor was on the juice but believes Jones is innocent. Seems legit.

You are right, he knows about boxing and thinks its the same for all olympics, There are different rules, for example the olympic football teams have to be u-23 but can still be top players in the worlds biggest clubs

Joe Rogan is an amateur at being tall and intelligent

Hilarious how Joe says it so matter of fact ..

He's so dumb it's annoying. Like the Jones steroid cocaine thing. He starts a theory that Jones didn't take roids. His cocaine was laced with roids. Months later when Matt Brown is on his podcast he says "There's the big rumour that Jones' coke was laced with steroids. And I believe it 100%" insert some pseudo science bullshit and he spouts it off like an intellect. It's absolute cringe.

They don't have team sports but they sure as hell seem to be a mecca for combat sports. Sambo, boxing, wrestling, kickboxing judo I'm pretty sure and whatever in between. If the Russians were signed on in large droves they would literally take over ufc and their shitty ranking system.

It's also a total shit hole, with a GDP smaller than other shit holes like Brazil, despite having the most natural resources of any other country in the world.
Spoken like somebody who has never been abroad, or even experienced a different culture. You can spend your time in the basement, until you have experienced a country what you consider a 'shit hole' you don't have a valid opinion. At least we have a high standard of education, unlike your apparent state... Continue being a fat virgin - it is working.

Amateur or pro, they're juiced to the gills. They start them in programs at 13 and start to pump them full of all kinds of test.
what about those american gymnasts with "ADHD" diagnosed when they are 4 years old & hooked on amphetamines.... or US Athletics olympians who are juiced like 100% .....Carl Lewis,Michael Johnson,Marion Jones..... not to mention aemerican biseboll ,aemerican hand-egg or basketball

It's not exactly news that Joe doesn't know fuck all about any non-combat sports

He weirdly takes pride in it for some reason

But yeah this is some dumb ass shit there are amazing pro Russian hockey players, boxers, soccer players etc.

I think Rogan is talking about professional sports leagues that make money like the nba, mlb, and nfl.

I don’t think Russia has that
