Media Jiri posts video addressing the situation on his Twitter page

He’s a great pro wrestler, but calling out mma guys, I mean come on. There are plenty of guys in AEW he can trash talk. I think him and Samoa Joe have some unfinished business.
Anyone can catch these hands.

War Jiri!!! I hope he recovers and comes back at 100%

The guy is a real life samurai and live by a code of honor, nothing but love and respect for Jiri.

What an absolute Chad for not holding up the division while hearing!

My respect for Jiri shot up 10 fold
I will root for him hither on

How can you not like this dude.

Literally willing to challenge for it again instead of holding it hostage for a year or so.

Where is the evidence of this
Evidence of what I said or evidence of the injury? Cuz I dont have evidence of the injury.

As far as what I said,

"This is the worst shoulder injury the doctors have seen in UFC history," White told Yahoo Sports. "It's really f***ing bad. His shoulder is very, very bad. He's going to have serious surgery that will require extensive rehab."

And Jiri himself says 6 mo in his post.

If it's only 6 months there's no reason to not just let them do an interim. 6 months is missing 1 fight. Jiri is one of my favorites, but I'm getting the vibe that theres some fuckery afoot.
He will be healthy in 6 months, it will take another 3-4 to get ready to fight. And that's being optimistic.

In all likelihood Jiri won't be ready to actually fight until next fall/winter. That's 18 months or so since the previous title fight. Vacating is completely warranted.

Hopefully Jiri gets ppv points when he does come back & fight for the belt.

So do we get another fight on that card?

Interview with one of his trainers (Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator):

How exactly did Jiří Procházka's injury occur during training?
"It was a normal sparring, we had everything covered. It happened last Thursday, we wanted to do some more wrestling practice. So we chose an opponent that was adequate, that suited Jirka. A decent guy, a wrestler, not a nutcase. Because we really wanted to eliminate injuries. Unfortunately, the unfortunate coincidence happened that Jirka fell on his shoulder from behind during one throw. All of a sudden, there's a terrible scream. Jiri was startled and in pain. His shoulder was dislocated, thrown forward forty-five degrees. We immediately put him on a chair and with one of Ankalaev's team members we threw the shoulder back. Then we immediately went to the UFC Performance Institute to try to activate it."

In what way?
"Cryotherapy, rehabilitation, acupuncture needles, electrotherapy were tried to revive the shoulder. It was starting to move around, he didn't have a big hematoma there. The arm was mobile at all angles, but only with assistance. The rehab and physiotherapy at the UFC Performance Institute is really perfect, they have the most up-to-date methods and technology, so we've been trying to get it all sorted out. The problem was that his arm just wouldn't lift in front of him and to the side. Only with assistance. So we started to address other things, which included an MRI, which showed what it showed - he had torn ligaments. That led to the decision that we needed to say we're not going to go into the fight. We waited for Martin (Prochazka's other trainer, who flew to Las Vegas later due to work commitments) to tell us. We also communicated with Tim Simpson of Paradigm Sports (the agency representing Prochazka and other UFC stars). And we worked out everything with the whole team before it was made public. Of course, everything was fine-tuned directly with the UFC as well."

How did you experience the whole situation directly?
"It was difficult for me. Because we are fighters, the whole team, we were determined to go into the fight until the last moment. As it happened, we told ourselves: We've got three weeks... If it was just bruised, we would have got it together and gone for it. But it turned out the way it did."

What do you think of the UFC's decision?
"I'm a little puzzled about it, but at the end of the day, the outcome of the meeting is meaningful. It makes sense to all sides. And Jiri's decision is honorable because nobody wants to give up a title. But we'll go back for it!"

You, coach Martin Karaivanov and Jiri Procházka have really gelled over the years. What is the atmosphere like in the team now?
"The mood in our trio is still great. We are professionals and we deal with things as they are. Of course we were upset and disappointed, but we take it as it is and face the situation head on."

Are you trying to relax in any way? After all, you're in Las Vegas.
"That we would go somewhere to relax and have a day off, no. We're here for work. The fact that it's disrupted, the fact that there's no fight, it means another priority, to make Jiri as comfortable as possible in terms of those rehabs and so we continue to practice. We really have all the resources at our disposal here. So we haven't given up on anything and started living a different life. That doesn't exist. There are just other responsibilities."

its only right. the champ showed class to everyone else in vacating the belt - i imagine that goodwill will be paid back whenever Jiri is healthy. it should be at least.

I am going to try to head nod people at the end of the convo now.

This one really fucking sucks! Jiri is a beast . Reminds me of old school fighters. Hope he bounces back quick.

Two immediate thoughts ..

One - This is a true champions way of doing this, if he truly injured and needs time then vacating makes sense, interims are sloppy and he's very clear that he will come back for the title asap and i dont see why the UFC wouldn't allow this , he's done everything they've asked and he's exciting

Two- Does Usada still have to announce positives or is there a way to cross reference positives vs speculation for the public... Because a unknown usage case..6 months seems to be the penalty that comes with it and if someone finds out the champion is dirty and hogging the belt that can't look good which would explain the vacating...(NOW IM NOT SAYING HE IS ON ANYTHING...IM JUST ASKING HOW DO WE THE FANS KNOW OR CAN KNOW ABOUT POTENTIAL FAILURES)
Yeah, so now they don't announce anything initially, only when they are suspended, so someone could get flagged, appeal, go through arbitration, etc. before anyone is the wiser. If no suspension is given, or if the suspension is waived for something like snitching, like in the Jon Jones case, I suppose we might never know about it.
