Thousands of conservatives celebrated (and continue to celebrate to this day) George Floyd’s murder as “a scum bag who overdosed on his fentanyl”. They condemned the BLM movement and the police brutality protests (all lives matter, blue lives matter, etc.). They called for the release and pardon of the “innocent” Derek Chauvin.

No they don't. Calling Floyd a scumbag who OD'd on fentanyl is a way of decrying the guilty verdict of Chauvin, not a celebration of Floyd's death. Obviously they don't think highly of Floyd but it's quite a different matter to be filled with glee over murder.

That WILL be the narrative from them very soon. As comments get buried and videos get deleted because people don't want to get fired, it will turn into "it was only a few, you're exaggerating." Luckily, that will never fly because nobody could forget the left celebrating, en masse, all over the internet and social media sites. Also fortunate that there was a big movement to save as much evidence as possible to not allow the left to gloss over just how bad it was. It's possible that's what he meant. The headlines I've seen say what I was thinking but it could be he was trying to say everyone is desperate to distance themselves and that "he couldn't possibly be from our group" which I'd agree has some truth.

I'd also agree that there's truth to him saying some people are using this as an opportunity which I expressed in another post in the Kirk thread. Without a doubt there are some out there who are not really thinking of Kirk but are thinking how to leverage the situation. 100%. I can't say how large that group is though.

Regardless, Kimmel wasn't one of the people cheering at the situation. He was trying to point of hypocrisy. Canceling him is an overreach.
