Jemele Hill suspended by ESPN

@LogicalInsanity didn't imply she shouldn't have her freedom of speech. He's saying in his opinion, she should have been fired for calling him a white supremacist. If I was ESPN I would fire literally anyone who loosely used that kind of language. It's not helpful and there is no evidence to support it. She has every right to say what she wants but there are consequences. Do not confuse the two. Of course you're trying to muddy the argument as usual when you're in the wrong.

And this is precisely what I wanted to say..

I never said jemele should be silenced or have her free speech rights curtailed or infringed..

She made an idiotic statement
..or statements...she should accept the consequences of such...

I don't know how this turned into, "conservatives don't believe in free speech.."

One thing to note Jerry Jones made this policy last year in football about all players will have to stand during the anthem. That is her world the sports world and now all of a sudden she calls for boycott? LOL

JVS claiming the left is all about free speech vs the right? has he not seen the numerous videos of protest that try to shut down speakers calling it hate speech? Shouting down opponents by the leftist crowds. Hell BLM shut down Sanders speaking event. I think it's the opposite right now, most sane liberals are still all about the free speech though and that's great.

She's fast becoming the Hilary of sports broadcasting - the gift that keeps on giving.

People on the other side of the argument do not believe in free speech. That should be obvious from the fact that they don't understand that free-speech does not come without consequences

The WH is supposed to be political. It's intrinsically, innately and inescapably political. ESPN is supposed to show us long balls, slam dunks and hat tricks. This bitch can get bent

No, it isn't. The WH should not be politicizing social issues for political gain. The election is over. They're supposed to represent all Americans now.
Pence pulled his little dramatic exit for political points. It was fucking childish. Leaders need to be above such nonsense. Walking out doesn't solve or address shit. It just deepens the problem. He knew good goddamn well that there would likely be some kneeling players. If it was going to offend him that much, then he should have stayed his old, crusty ass at home and saved the taxpayers $250K

Here's some other things Jemele has written.

"Rooting for the Celtics is like saying Hitler was a victim. It's like hoping Gorbachev would get to the blinking red button before Reagan. Deserving or not, I still hate the Celtics."

“So in a country where we have done everything possible to undermine the LGBTQ community, we are suddenly lecturing Islam on homophobia. Oh.”

“I recently wrote a column saying that there is just as much evidence against Lance Armstrong as there is [against] Barry Bonds, and part of the reason there is this extraordinary benefit of the doubt extended to Lance is because he’s white."
She's kinda fucked in the head ain't she

If you haven't seen the tweets here they are. This woman works for a media company and she called for a boycott of his advertisers. I don't think it gets much dumber than that.

Thanks for posting that.
Im neither liberal or conservative , but I lean a lot more towards the left, and she deserves the suspension. If you work for THE sports channel that covers all the major sports, you can't use your voice to attack one of the teams and try and hurt their profits.
That's just common sense.

But lol at the irony here of all the people here calling her a "racist bitch", and whom are angry that she called Trump a white supremacist.
The word "racist" is thrown around way too fucking casually. It's a serious charge. She was wrong to call Trump a white supremacist. But she doesn't hate white people, or think that blacks are superior. Her thinking that blacks are unfairly discriminated against doesn't make her racist against whites.

I don't watch her show, but is she going all Rachel Maddow on the show? Is there 10 minute rants about BLM? Or is all this commotion over her tweets? Tweets you would have to seek out to know about?
There's a lot of bitch ass bitching over nothing. Bitching about tweets, and bitching about kneeling during a 2 minute song. None of these things change what happens in the actual game. All of this shit is easily ignored if all you really want to do is watch the game.

I don't watch her show but there is bitchassness on many sides.

"If some don't kneel, they'll be seen as sellouts".

And this is what I hate most about liberals attitudes towards blacks. They think blacks have to some intellectually homogenous group that slaves away that their demands. Any black who deviates from the liberal orthodoxy becomes seen as somehow not black, because in their fucked up minds, it's easier to just pretend that a person is not black, than it is to recognize that not every black lives to serve them.

“So in a country where we have done everything possible to undermine the LGBTQ community, we are suddenly lecturing Islam on homophobia. Oh.”

This is something that really winds me up and it shows just how utterly illogical and oblivious to reality these people really are. Gays can get married in every state in America whereas homosexuality is illegal across most of the Muslim world, in many cases being punishable by death. Yet they defend, even praise Islam and run down America for being homophobic.

They genuinely try and make out that Christians and conservatives objecting to gay marriage is at least as bad as throwing gays off buildings or putting them in jail.

"Numerous posters"? You were erroneously talking about me, and that's what I was responding to.

No, you accused me of being "robotically partisan" because I noticed that there are no allies on the right willing to stand up for free speech unless it's for conservatives or right-wing extremists. But it's a true observation, as you can see from this thread, the WR in general, and other outlets. And it's telling that you launch ugly personal attacks toward me and don't see fit to turn them toward people who they clearly apply to.

LOL! So she should be free to speak but should be punished with a loss of livelihood for expressing views that are unacceptable to right-wingers. OK...
