Yes, Trump was doing whatever he could to stay in power, he was going to try the fake electors scheme but Pence didn’t go along with it, so then he filed lawsuits in several states, and accused everyone of voter fraud with Giuliani, until his own Attorney General William Barr finally declared that no widespread fraud was found, and then Barr resigned because Trump still wouldn’t give it up. Then he wouldn’t even go to Biden’s inauguration.

I’m a republican, but I can still recognize that Trump is a power hungry egomaniac, it’s not like he is trying to hide it.

These the very things Pence is talking about. Just because you prefer one side, respecting the outcome of an election is a necessity, even if you don’t win. And even if it’s your side benefiting from undermining the democratic process, you should have a problem with that.
But ya, just clap along with Vance talking the talk, while the only reason he has the job is because Pence was willing to walk the walk.

If Russia will back off and not have nato in the ukraine it may be enough for Putin to save face. Definitely the war was harder than he thought. Again, it's a sad state but with no clear way forward so far it may be time to just get a peace deal if both sides are weary. And just because he's weary, I don't think its likely that putin will ever just quit and walk away. Both sides have agreed in principle that they will meet. Maybe they are both tired. They may just go on with the war of course.
