There hasn't been a fiscally conservative Republican POTUS since Eisenhower, which was before the southern strategy/Goldwater.

Essentially no, what you could consider "modern" Republican president, has ever been fiscally conservative. It's just something they pay lip service to, and the base never holds their feet to the fire, so there is no incentive for them to change. When shit hits the fan because of their balderdash, just blame the libs.

The system wasn't changed after Nixon's shenanigans and the punishments weren't severe enough. We're seeing the downstream effects of the lack of accountability

I only remember complaints about Michelle taking separate vacations to exotic locals with her family without O just weeks before/after taking vacations with him.
