Jan is a better striker than Izzy

We have clear evidence to support this fact.
No, I really don't think we do. Jan won this fight and I'm very happy for it, but let's not make draw conclusions for Adesanya based on one performance. This is ignoring everything fantastic he's ever done in his career just cause he got outstruck in a fight where he was clearly concerned with wrestling and takedowns, and for very good reason. I hardly think this display should lead to the conclusion that Jan is the better, more technical striker. That's just untrue.

He's a good striker who has a big size and reach advantage over all the other MWs. He's not some untouchable striking magician that Joe Rogan would like to have people believe. That Costa performance really made people forget about the Kelvin, Romero, and Italian dude fights.

Size advantage ?? FFS That place is full of retard

This isn't an opinion but a factual statement supported by clear evidence.

I don't want to hear a thing about Izzy being the best striker anymore. He got out struck and beaten on the feet in a kick boxing match by Jan.

Jan is a better, more technical striker than Adesanya.

I rejoice in this cold hard FACT and I bask in your sorrow.

That was so obvious!

He had an 8" reach advantage over Costa...

And he won with kicks and movement. The reach isn't why Costa couldn't do shit. Izzy also won on Bobby's aggression with counters on the inside. You guys can continue to discredit Izzy because he lost to a guy who fought really smart and he was worried about the takedown. You don't end up 20-0 by having a longer each and being simply good.

The beauty of fighting someone you don't have a massive reach advantage over. Same thing happened to Jones when he fought Gus.
jones outstroke gus tho and santos who outstoked jan

Jan had the longest reach out of anyone Izzy has fought before. He isn't known as some technical striker, but he was able to outstrike Izzy with his jab. Do people think that jab would have been landing if Jan had Costa's reach?

Nope, it's a fact.
Jan out struck him every single round. Even the first 3 where there was no TDs.

No it's lazy analysis that does not account for the threat of the TD that would not be present in a pure stand up fight and which was present for all 5 rounds. Jan has really good technique as a striker but any one with eyes can see he is not a better overall, nor more technical striker then Israel. Also, if Jan was as a good as a striker as you say then he would not have felt the need to impose his grappling skills on Israel.

isreal is really overrated around here. Isreal was punching air and glove. He basically has a nice leg kick and a jab, that's it. Jan landed more shots on the feet and the more powerful shots. On the ground it was man vs. boy. Should have known after isreal got his face smashed by Gastelum for 5 rounds and almost KO'd.

Izzy will never surpass Anderson as a striker

Megan Anderson that is

He was losing the stand up in the rounds with no takedown attempts. He was getting jabbed up in range and losing the inside fighting range. It's always been Adesanya's weakness. Other fighters just weren't able to take advantage of it because of the size/reach disadvantage. Jan was closer to his size/reach so it was easier for him to get in range. Plus smaller cage gives less space for Adesanya to use his movement, which makes it harder for him to maintain the outside range that he's used to.

Also like others have mentioned Jan knows how to check kicks, so that eliminated Adesanya's outside kicking game and forced him to using his boxing. Which isn't the strongest part of his game, especially boxing on the inside. That's why Adesanya got hit so much in this fight. His defense/offense and head movement is lacking at that range.

It doesn't matter if there were no takedown attempts, the threat was always there. He was concerned about it the whole time.

Don't try to discredit Izzy just cause Jan beat him. It's weak. He's still fantastic.

he belongs in the MW and will probably dominate from years to come but that was a wake up call that he has no business at lhw....if he fights Jones he gonna get the machida treatment....

He checked a lot of leg kicks. He and Yan looked like the best leg kick checkers in the game last night, not many got through.
