Nathan Fillion looks so silly in the Guy Gardner bowl cut and I'm here for it. Let's hope he's portrayed accurately which is a rude, abrasive asshole.

It certainly looks like an abrasive asshole in that pic lol.

I would say I’m a casual fan of comic books and superhero movies in general and I would probably put Superman on the lower end of my favoritism.
think being casual puts me in the spot where I know enough about the lore to get it and not so hardcore, that I’m all for someone’s interpretation without much fuss.
This trailer sold me so far. Just felt like a kid watching it, I love that feeling, as I don’t get it super often. So it definitely captured my imagination. Can’t wait!!!

In the same way the Spider-Man 2002 movie had a 1960s storytelling feel in a modern setting, and the WonderWoman 2017 movie had a golden era comics feel and was set during WW1 but with modern effects..

...I get feeling from the trailer this Superman film has the intention of having an old-school aura to the storytelling and a 1970s atmosphere although it's set in modern-day.

Gunn wants to distinguish this movie from the Snyder films, which were both modern & dark. It makes sense he'd try to bring back, or honor, the original Superman movies that most fans of the character love.

It's basically a soft reboot of the goat reeves films, and will probably be the only decent movie that DC releases in the next 5 years.

I only watched the first few episodes of season one of Superman and Lois. But I did watch the series finale and I like the touching prologue.
It got good as the show went on. Far from perfect, but it had a lot of heart, and I felt the best portrayal of Superman and Lois in live action to date. You get to see more of who Clark/Superman is via him being a father and husband going through normal people life stuff.
Season 3 especially was good, but Season 4 went into Game of Throne Season 8 territory for me. (the finale was good though)

I don't know what to think of the trailer yet. There was stuff in it that I liked for sure. Looks brighter and different.
But it also does look bloated...a lot going on, and DC movies have already had a bad track record with that.
Perhaps it should be expected since this is basically kicking off Gunn's DCU, so we'll just see. Hoult as Lex is promising though.

I am conflicted on the presence of Krypto...just feels like he's there to create the planned tearfest when Lex inevitably puts kryptonite in his kibbles and bits and sends him to dog heaven.

I liked the score. This guy lacks the looks of Cavill. The Uniform looks old schoolish, with granny panties. I just pray this isn't an origin story, I can't take anymore of these. We know the story lol.

You and @PRIDEWASBETTER have endorsed Superman & Lois and I respect both your opinions but I just can't bring myself to watch it. I saw the finale episode and it just didn't really make me want to watch the series.

Gunn is great at showcasing animals (Rocket, Cosmo the Spacedog). I'm not a fan of Krypto but in Gunn I trust. Plus I think I know how he will use Krypto. I won't go into details in case I'm right but let's just say it's similar to Dum-E in Iron Man (2008).

Will I be able to watch Superman go against Metallo or not?
I don't think Metallo is in this one. But I'm sure he'll appear in future DCU movies. There's so many Superman villains we haven't seen in the big screen yet (Braniac, Metallo, Parasite, Solomon Grundy, Atomic Skull, Bizarro, Mongul).

Completely fair. It definitely has its own feel to it, but it's still a CW show and that has its own flavor as well.

I was always of the belief that Gunn could've taken the S&L characters after S3 of the show and started the DCU with them and an already established story, but I think those with more knowledge and experience than I know what they're doing.
