If they're casting for a new and younger Superman, maybe my fantasy casting of David Corenswet back in 2019 will finally come true.
Update: October 23, 2019

Dragonlord Fantasy Casting Vol. 23 - SUPERMAN

Up-and-coming actor David Corenswet plays a major role in Netflix's The Politician and I immediately thought that this guy could be perfect for Superman. Since Henry Cavill is reportedly not coming back as Supes, Warner Bros. should scoop the 26-year-old Corenswet to play the Man of Steel. The American actor has the looks, the height (listed 6'4" in IMDb), the voice and the acting to be a great Superman. I expect Corenswet will be a big star and household name in the near future.

The only thing they can get right is Batman and Joker, and I'm pretty sure people are tired of that ole shtick

Didn't Gunn already work on a young Superman movie when he produced Brightburn?

I think he was leaving that mess regardless. What a clown show over at Netflix, it should have been an easy slam dunk.

There have been many Superman portrayals over the years, but Cavill was the first to do it well since Christopher Reeve (the best). I do like the guy from Superman and Lois too. Snyder made him too dark, but listening to Cavill's take on the character (optimistic/hopeful) I was really excited to see him do it with a better vision in the director's chair. This is going to piss off a lot of fans, including me.

If there's any positive coming from this, Cavill is free to pursue some other goals he has, like playing Macleod in Highlander or some character in Warhammer 40K. The latter has the best lore in any IP IMO, which also has yet to have a proper live action blockbuster/series. He'd be a perfect Eisenhorn or Constantin Valdor.

Eisenhorn is still early preproduction last I heard, being helmed by the guys who made Man in the High Castle. I'm just finishing book 1 of the trilogy, it's fucking awesome!

My issue with Warhammer is that fact that it might be too deep in lore to pick up at any one point. You have what you think might be a good starting point, but could probably meet hundreds of others that can pick hundreds of other points to start from.

They really crushed Cavill once saying they don't want him as Superman, have him come back only to crush him again. He's only been begging for more Superman content to star in for years now, it's crazy. Get Cavill in as Doom, Cyclops, something, if he wants in on Marvel.

Also apparently Aquaman 2 and Flash will end on major cliffhangers so more movies to add to the DC graveyard. I'm assuming Peacemaker will be the only thing left out of the connected characters because that's his project.

No matter what happens in The Flash movie, the Snyderverse if officially dead according to an insider.

Shame for Cavill - seems a shitty way of dealing with some of your best talent.

Snyder's DCU may not have worked but the cast was pretty solid. Cavill, Gal and Batfleck were all quite good in their roles.

I'll still prolly be in for the Reboot of whatever though. I'm a sucker for just about anything Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Action, Adventure...

Ooooof this just looks like a big old L for the Rock
The Rock used his clout to go over DC Films President Walter Hamada and went straight to WB Pictures chief Michael de Luca and Pam Adby to push for a Cavill cameo for his Black Adam movie. I feel bad for Cavill if The Rock was responsible for giving Cavill all this false promise of new Superman projects in the future which caused Cavill to quit The Witcher alongside his $1 million per episode salary.

I can dream. WH40k is the most intensely rich lore ever. I just have my doubts it would ever be good.

Id prefer a HBOMax adaptation with a solid budget.
