Not sure why porier wouldn't fight number 12 he's coming off of consecutive losses and should probably be ranked outside the top 5.

they can go BSD vs gamrot then.

but not turner beating turner doesn't do enough.

Oh man seriously make a little effort read the OP. Gamrot is already booked against RDA.

And of course Poirier won't fight #12 that's common sense.

Turner is the only fight available and he's ranked 2 spots above BSD. It's a good fight. The best that can be made today actually.

Poirier said he likes exciting fights. Who is more exciting than benoit right now? Poirier just lost by head kick, Benoit just won by head kick. Benoit is French, Poirier has a French last name. The fight books itself!

Wait I agree that BSD is exciting. That's why I want to see him fight. But it's not the matter. BSD's career can't compare to that of Dustin as of now and it's normal for a veteran at the end of his road to want big fights.

If we were talking about Tsarukyan I'd agree with you because he just beat Dariush. But BSD is still too far down in the rankings he needs one more win at least before that. Turner is here.

And have you ask BSD if he likes pears ? If not he's not going to fight the pear tree

Lol. I do think the turner fight is most likely. I just think it is perfectly fine for benoit to try to aim higher. I'd love for them to throw a wad of cash poirier's way and book benoit vs. Poirier as the main event on the next france card. Or throw cash at Chandler who is sitting out waiting for a miracle.

Then I'd wait for another match up, rather than force this do nothing, go nowhere match up.

I see BSD as one fight away from a title eliminator. A fight against dustin with a win should lead to the next title eliminator.

you say a match up with dustin is not sensible but I do not agree. Gaethje had to defend his spot against fiziev, Chandler fought tony, Benny fought Armen and gamrot.

It's Porier's turn to risk his ranking.

After the turner fight a Poirier fight might be more feasible I think. Chandler is an idiot waiting for a fight that'll never happen

LW moves fast, everyone is booked or injured. If BSD beats Turner he will only have top 9 matchups ahead of him and will be something like 2 fights away from a TS.

I said it's not sensible from Poirier's POV. He - maybe - can fight Nate ar UFC 300 like it's rumored or rematch Conor for the millionth time, or fight Colby ar 170, so yeah BSD is not a sensible career choice at this point, it does nothing for him

Edit: and I agree that Poirier should defend his spot. But that should have been against someone 5-10 like Tsarukyan or Gamrot, and he didn't and now they're booked

I think he stands back and waits for a Conor rematch or Nate Diaz comeback. Maybe he'll entertain a Colby fight at 170. He's all about those big fights now
 
Jalin Turner is 6'3" and fights at 155
Deron Winn was 5'6" and fought at 185 and was missing weight

Porier isn't fighting Gamrot or Tsarukyan. Those are guaranteed losses, against fighters who aren't exactly the most exciting i see those fights as doing NOTHING for his career. I think he is also teammates with the two of them

You say he should defend his spot against 5-10.....

5 is chandler he already fought
6 is gamrot, a teammate already booked to fight RDA
7 is beniel who just lost 2 weeks ago
8 is fiziev who is hurt, but is otherwise a very sensible matchup
9 is Hooker, they've already fought, ranking wise is an imposter not really a top 10 LW
10 is turner, relative no name just got back in win collum
11 is RDA, another sensible match for dustin, but of course is booked.

the 5-10 match ups dont really make sense for him. In this current landscape, there is not a great distance between 8-12, those 4 fighters are all interchangeable rankings wise.

Just feels like a step sideways. Turner is on a one fight win streak and lost easily to frevola. BSD is on a 5 fight win streak, finishing all of them easily, including frevola. I'm not against the fight, but there's not much reward in fighting turner. BSD should do his best to aim higher, and honestly, considering how he's been performing, I think it is fair to aim higher.

If Turner beats himself he at least could go viral with it, which he could milk for a nice sum of monies.
 
Would wAtch. Jalin is an excellent fighter who is still developing too. I wouldn’t say BSD would be favourite in that one. It’s absurd that he’s developed as quickly as he has. Jalin is no joke.


Id throw Hooker into the mix too.
