This would be for the undisputed. Jones is not waiting for a loss. Jones know his next fight is Aspinall or walk away from the title. If they set this fight up, its because they stripped Jones.

I think JJ's order of preference is as follows:

1. Tom fights someone else and loses ("He was never any good")
2. JJ retires stating there's nothing left to add to his legacy
3. JJ deliberately gets arrested and sent to prison for 20+ years
4. - 99. Anything else
100. Fight Tom

If Jones refuses the fight (which I think he will), I think Jailton is the fight to make. Gane has already lost 2 title fights and seems strangely disinterested in fighting. Also, Jailton might be able to put Aspinall on his back, which is something we haven't seen. There are still questions about Aspinall that need to be answered.

That being said, if Alex wins his next fight, I fully expect him to jump the line at HW.

I think we need closure on Gane though, even though yes he does seem strangely disinterested. He was the Aspinall of the division not long ago, and his only losses are to Ngannou (and he dominated Ngannou standing) and Jones, two opponents that Aspinall hasn't fought are in a higher tier than anyone Aspinall has fought.

I will give Gane the benefit of the doubt in the Volkov rematch and assume he truly did have a severe injury, because he literally fought the same opponent and coasted not that long ago, plus he fought that fight much more flat footed and not typical of his usual style at all. This was the only extended fight standing that Gane didn't completely dominate, other then one random shot by Tuivasa of all people. But yeah in reality we probably just get Tom taking him down and beating him up on the ground anyway.

First UFC needs to cut the crap. We need an official announcement that jones is stripped first before booking the next HW title fight.

Sucks to be waiting like that, but Almeida would need at least one more significant win before being eligible in that discussion imo.
