Im sure if they did a study or took a poll...Showed the fight to people, 99.9999% of the people would focus on fights and not give a fuck....So it's not just my opinion, I think this is most UFC watchers opinions.


Im just saying it's a fucking waste for the UFC to focus on that.

For a fan, yeah. I came to watch fights, so a ref with a ridiculous moustache isnt going to stop me from that.
But the UFC doesnt need to woo me, they already got me, but they wants to get new customers. And image and presentation is everything there.
I would say it most definitely matters if youre trying to grow your base, especially internationally.
There is literally not a single ref in any other sport that looks like him. If I knew nothing about the UFC and was flipping through channels.and he was reffing a fight, id be confused at what I was watching.

I saw Beltran make a post not long ago on social media about how he is a Deputy with the LA County Sheriffs Office, and he started growing the stache years ago when he was doing undercover work in East LA. He’s kept it growing for over a decade. Beltran is a complete bad ass and a true community servant. He grew up in East LA, and he’s been out on the streets for years trying to help prevent crime. It’s a complete disgrace that the UFC won’t let him travel to ref events just because of his stache. Oh well, more power to Beltran for doing his thing. He’s got a great career in and out of the cage, so I’m sure he doesn’t really care about the few extra gigs overseas anyways.

I've had major discussions with Mike about his moustache. One time i was like "dude it's just facial hair. Cut it off, let them get to know you and then grow it back again."
He just looked at me said "ain't fucking happening. Im a grown ass man, no one is telling me how i can look"

His mustache is incredibly stupid and he looks ridiculous, hair shy of neck tattoos and two hairs shy of face tattoos only because he can cut it off. You are a grown ass, ridiculous looking, man. His face and he can do what he wants but the UFC can do what it wants as well.

Would I discriminate against him in a similar situation? Absolutely not. I would only care about his abilities. If I was Dana would I take the opportunity to tell him he looks like a 12 year girl with pigtails stapled on his face? Absolutely a yes.

Ive had alot of corporate gigs where they didnt want me to have a full beard. I always just grew it anyway and they gave up. Never had nothin as outrageously excellent as Beltran's tho. If i ever got it to that length id never cut it either.
