I think it makes sense. Gane vs Poatan for an interim belt would be a massive fight all fans would like to see and the winner can fight Tom.

Poatan is almost 40. He needs to push for this so he can be triple champ and go into uncharted, legendary territory.

He said he isn't cleared to fight... he was never not cleared to fight.... and he is getting eye surgery.... his dad says he wants to be a boxer... idk the whole thing seems fishy to me.

I'm cool with vacating the title. Let the division move on and Aspinall faces winner. He was never anything beyond interim champ. UFC should do this every time though.

Did he even receive a medical suspension following the fight? I googled it but everything that comes up is just Tom and/or Tom's dad saying these things (vaguely that he is "not medically cleared")... nothing official from any commision or anything. Plus Dana seemed to think they could book the rematch relatively quickly, so this makes me think Tom is again fibbing a bit
