It's October... Halloween/Horror Movies

Don't think I've heard of Annihilation but Hereditary was pretty effective. Wasn't blown away by the ending but awesome atmosphere

And yep, love the Decent, never watched the sequel though, any good?
It's absolutely terrible.

Damn, my acid days are decades gone but I'm digging the idea. Back when I was an acid head I used to love watching Hammer horror movies, fucking tripping balls at 14 watching Christopher Lee's eyes bleeding, yup, that explains a lot

Good eclectic choice there man
my best a-head-full-of-acid days are behind me as i’ve inched closer to my 30s, that’s for sure. at this point i just microdose for that just-right visual & mental upgrade & then maybe re-dose a couple times to maintain that target sweet spot.

Hammer bless. i’ve watched a handful of Hammer films on some acid. my favorite experience was probably the Quartermass trilogy.
Oh man Death Line, I saw that again in my local arts centre on a big screen just last week! Fucking great movie, that long shot near the begining of the killers lair, it's like 4 minutes long, dripping water in the back ground as it pans around his dungeon. Got high as fuck and watched that scene over and over
it wasn’t until about halfway through that sequence that it finally struck me that it was all a single take & then it just kept going & going & going. i think my brain had a delayed reaction because it wasn’t something i was expecting from the film. just brilliant stuff, man. i almost applauded in my living room once the scene finished.

Anyone remember The Legend Of Boggy Creek?

That movie scared the shit out of me as a kid, and for the last 40 odd years it's only been available in less than VHS quality. But I've been following the progress of the family of the director as they restore the movie frame by frame, it has had a few cinema releases in the US and should one day hit Blu Ray.

Man I can't wait

Did you happen to notice this in the background.

No, I didn't. That's so cool.
I was trying to take in all the visuals, paintings, drawings & symbols while watching it but it was so rich in detail that it was impossible to do in a single viewing. It's one of those films that definitely requires more than one.

I watched Carrie last night on Netflix.

Earlier in the day I watched Tales From the Crypt/Vault of Horror.

Still too early for The Shining, IMO

I did enjoy it actually, could have been way better but I liked what they were aiming for
The constraints of network tv (fox) probably did not allow them to go full out.

Was pretty well done considering.

Ah they're nice enough! She is such a cool cat and really pretty, I always wanted to see her naked, and now we can!

Yes I pre-ordered American Werewolf months ago, not 4K but the deluxe Arrow Blu Ray release.
I genuinely have no idea when it is coming out though

Yep, that's the same one that I'm getting. No, it's not a 4K disc but the movie itself was remastered using a 4K scan of the original negative so it's bound to look AMAZING. This will make the fifth version of AWIL that I own. I own the original VHS cassette, the DVD, the first Blu-ray release, the second "remastered" Blu-ray release & now at the end of the month I'll have the restored Arrow Blu-ray version. The only thing that I need to complete my collection is a copy of the old laserdisc version.

Wow, never seen Food Of The Gods, I'm on it now!

Love Salem's Lot and Trilogy Of Terror, I bought my wife this T-Shirt, she likes it but has no idea of the relevance

So cool, bro. My wife & I have matching Overlook Hotel T-shirts ( no worries though, we don't ever wear them at the same time that would be too... sickly sweet LOL ).

I watched Death Line on Blu Ray earlier this year and like wise, had to stop and rewind half way through the scene to check if it was a single shot, and was so blown away I had to watch it 4 or 5 times!
I was high as fuck at the time but I was mesmerised, you don't expect to see it from such a low brow movie.

When it was on at our arts centre last week, everyone kind of gets together to talk about it before it starts, and they ask if anyone has anything to say, I jumped up and told everyone how dope this scene was and that they must look out for it, and that I was high as fuck last time I watched it and was high as fuck now as well!
Turned out most people were on something, we all sat around stoned watching this horror movie in an old church. It was awesome!

Donald P is wicked funny in that movie as well

Just watched The Hitcher the other day (the original). Ponyboy from the outsiders is the main character the hitchhiker fucks with the whole movie. Loved it. It had your stereotypical slasher feel but also kind of surreal at times

Haha, nice, that's dedication. HMV over here released this last year

It's a novelty but I really like the set; Blu and DVD, plus poster and trading cards in a faux VHS box.
It's really nice, they released a bunch of them. I think I have a few unopened VHS tapes (from when I worked in video stall around 2002), not the OG VHS but an MGM rerelease I think. I have a couple of different DVD covers, the package above, one of the other Blu Rays, and then the new one when it comes out.
I'm always on the look out for an old VHS with the crad sleeve though, I'd love one of those

Always wondered, when Michael Myers as a child leaves the house with the knife in his hand, was he heading outside because he heard his parents pull up and was maybe going out to kill his little sister?
He sure gets obsessed with her in later years.

In the original Halloween Laurie Strode wasn't meant to be Michael's sister. The original working title for the movie was The Babysitter Murders. The subplot about Laurie being his sister was introduced in Halloween 2.

First movie i ever watched on HBO. Had a great shower scene as I recall

Another Classic

Check out The Taking of Deborah Logan if you haven't seen it yet. It's a found footage movie but in the style of a documentary. It's one of the more interesting possession films I've seen as of late.
Damn, it's getting a bit difficult to keep up with this thread. There's so much cool stuff being discussed.
DEBORAH LOGAN is, indeed, an excellent little chiller. I watched it twice a couple of years ago & then again last week when it debuted on Shudder.

I watched halloween 2 last night, had to rewind that scene a few times.
Donald Pleasence proper hams it up in this one as well, way more than the first movie which he played pretty straight.
Love the part where he keeps shouting 'I SHOT HIM SIX TIMES!' over and over as he goes off with the copper

I saw that at the cinema back when I was a kid & I loved it!
But, now, all that I really remember about it is that the creature made off with a pig at one point & then, that sad, sappy song at the end. LOL.
