its disrespectful to compare REAL fighters with fake Bruce Lee

Fraud Lee is the only martial artist in the world that became a god by never fighting at all. That takes talent.
hes the finest example of how the media can make people want to believe something and even defend it to the point of getting angry if ever questioned.
we all know that Chinese martial arts are straight up cults. They literally think their "master" is supreme over all.

This is the same way with Lee's fans. In their limited imagination, Lee is a god special among others.
they even think he has a chance against actual pro fighters. Some even said that he could beat Francis or Usman or even Buakaw which is fucking stupid.
They're letting nostalgia and their fantasy get in the way of logical thinking. The same people who mention wwe is fake all the time, and they would get beaten badly in UFC are now saying a man who was an actor first, just like wwe, could've beaten the whole roster. What kind of logic is that? Lol

i think its disrespectful for mma fighter or even boxers to be compared with actor Lee
whos never been cut or broke a bone in his life.
the mans primary profession was acting. He wasn't some super secret badass who could destroy pro fighters, but just preferred movies. As stated by Chuck Norris, a legitimate kickboxing competitor and close friend of Lee's, stated that while Lee was good, he was not a professional fighter.

Bruce Lee helped gain a lot of interest for martial arts. The man was by everyone's account, a great martial artist and a visionary in many ways for his time.

It is likely that because of his fame, far more people ended up knowing who Chuck Norris or Bill Wallace, etc. even were.

You have to remember that the average person in the west at the time didn't have a clue what martial arts was and it became popular in part because of him. The reason you are on this forum flapping your gums right now is in part because of that influence.

He may not have competed but I am extremely confident that someone with his skill set would make you the little spoon in a big hurry there kiddo. You probably don't even train, you should pipe down now.

Kevin who?

Many of us who play extreme metal today started with black sabbath songs and those guys had their own heroes.

You cant get something from nothing.

Would lose to Van Damme though.

Shit man, I'm glad you brought this up. This topic NEVER gets discussed here on sherdog.com

only martial artist in the world that became a god by never fighting at all.

So name someone who "became a god" by actually fighting. Name one.

So...nobody at all, prior to the MMA era?

Maybe except those apocryphal fights that supposedly happened at some point in some dojo?

Who are your martial arts heros then? (I know the whole post is a troll but there are really people who think this way)

Our teacher overheard us, and laughed at us like we were the dumbest motherfuckers alive. At the time I was like, this disrespectful old man doesn't know shit about martial arts.

Wait...you took martial arts from a guy you didn't think knew shit about martial arts?

Why didn't you get another teacher?

He was obviously skilled martial artist and had great philosophies, but no he's not a fighter. Idk why some people get offended over that.

OP writing paragraphs about Bruce in 2021 like we haven't heard all this before. Go have a talk with Anderson Silva about it. Everyone sane knows that he was mainly a showman and brought light to martial arts and not a phenom shoot boxer or vale tudo competitor l

I remember discussing the Lee vs Ali fight with my friends in middle school. Most of us did karate, and agreed that Lee's broader skill set would enable him to beat Ali. Our teacher overheard us, and laughed at us like we were the dumbest motherfuckers alive. At the time I was like, this disrespectful old man doesn't know shit about martial arts. Now, I realize that he was right to laugh at us the way he did.
best post in the thread.

boxing is just a sport a baby next to china martial arts which is 4,000 years old, fighting in boxing not make you a martial artist.
