Downing Street hasn't responded yet, but it's understood the UK has not taken part in any military action, including efforts to defend Israel against strikes, our political correspondent reports

---

Why would we?

Israel had gone utterly rogue.

UK, USA and the West need to step back, stop sending ANYTHING and leave Israel to it.

They might desire war, we don't.

Favorite moment of all this: Cincinnati Zoo, where Harambe was killed, posted, just hours before Israel attacked Iran, that "Bibi's bite is very strong".

meme magic is real.

What I find ironic in Iran's strike to Israel's Military Headquarters HaKirya is where it is located...

Right in Central Tel Aviv. Embedded in the middle of a metropolis. Surrounded by residential apartments, public parks, and shopping centers.

Sounds a lot like Israel is embedding it's military within the population.

So using Israeli logic, does Iran get to just shrug it's shoulders when civilian casualties transpire?
I'd say thats a big yes.
I find it despicable when Palestine does it, if Israel is doing the same, it's acceptable casualities.

anyone else seen the Israeli gov't say that Iran better stop sending missiles?

Like bro what did you expect? its fucking insane how they can say this shit with a straight face, the sense of entitlement (decades of US coddling and providing top cover really doesn't help here does it) is madness, like yeah WE will bomb the shit out of you, but, tut tut, you doing it back just can't be tolerated, they are fucking mental.

Most major intelligence installations are in population centres.

It's just a BS Israeli talking point and chance to manufacture blame for Hamas for what THEY were choosing to do.

It quickly unravels when the unattackables are attacked.

Nobody serious bought the "embedded in the population" narrative.

Israel targets military insitiutions. Iran targets civilians.

Ukraine targets military. Russia targets civillians.

If it's not evil it's probably just a sign that their intel is awful and they don't know what to hit.

There are tons of videos showing Iran hitting legitimate military targets. Israel also has embedded serious valid targets such as AA installations directly next to civilian apartments. I think the Iran regime needs to be replaced, but randomly making up shit like this makes you look bad for no reason.

AFAIK Israel has always done the same, just another in the long list of their double standards

we're going to be paying like 50% more for petrol and 20% more for goods because of this shit, y'all Israel supporters know that right? fucked if i know how but i bet Bibi and crew will have found a way to benefit from that shit too. FML

plus Gaza is one of the most densely populated p aces on earth IIRC, the options for putting anything, anywhere that civilians aren't, are fucking limited

Yeah. Its absolutely twilight zone level shit. Israel has killed dozens of people now, some valid military targets, others civilian scientist. But to act like you can actively bomb Iran's capital, and they are supposed to do absolutely nothing in return, is baffling. Whats even more baffling is the MAGET crowd going along with this narrative as well. At some point they are going to have to say enough is enough, OR get ready to send their family to fight and die for Israel.

edit: Look at this. Absolutely WILD shit is happening right now. WTF is Israel posting this on social media other than trying to get Americans on board to go die for Israel?

We will be hearing ‘Israel has a right to defend itself’ after they struck first. You’re right it’s astonishing the double standards. They get a continuous pass. They’ve been dropping bombs as they please for years.

Just in time for tariffs to also start hitting the U.S. What a fucking disaster.

And that is 100% because they and everyone else knows that the U.S. has their back.

I believe that Russia is claiming to be defending themselves. I don't think they are. But I don't think Israel is defending itself here either, despite claiming as such.

Russia's claim is that they're under threat from NATO expansion and from Nazis in the Ukraine on their border.

Don't they have a right to preemptively avoid a situation they consider dangerous to their nation? Who are we to say that their fears are or aren't credible? See how that works? So we either let everyone go unilaterally or we condemn everyone who does so and rely on multilateral approaches.
Got it, makes sense. I’ll walk back my comments on German expansion in the 1930s, their fears were relevant and France’s defenses were in fact threatening.

Sorry I think it does not have to be a zero sum decision, one is able to consider each separately. That’s how I see it at least, one can be unwarranted the other could have merit.

MSN is reporting 2 F-35s shot down by Iran.

In a major event that has drawn global attention, Iran has become the first country in the world to shoot down fifth-generation F-35 stealth fighter jets. These aircraft, considered among the most advanced and expensive warplanes ever built, were being used by the Israeli military in an early Friday morning attack against Iran.
During this aggressive operation, several locations within Iran were targeted. The airstrikes led to the deaths of key military personnel, scientific experts, and innocent civilians, including women and children. However, in what is now being described as a historic moment in military defense, Iran’s air defense forces managed to detect, target, and destroy two F-35 fighter jets that had entered its airspace.

This successful action by Iran marks a global first — no other country until now has been able to bring down these stealth aircraft in active combat.
