Only a very handful of endeavors were about “protecting” the country. One was WW2 and you could make an argument that Afghanistan was justified given that we thought Al Queda was there after the 9/11 attacks.I'm not reading all this but do you think people that serve the military do it for fun? Do they care about protecting the country? Yes or no. Simple
But most of the other wars are not about “freedom” or “protecting our country”. It’s more about expanding our pool of material interests. What was the point of the Invasion of Iraq in 2003? The Banana Wars, Vietnam, etc.
I’m not an isolationist cuck either. I do support internationalism in cases like Ukraine, Bosnia, Kosovo, or East Timor when there are ongoing genocides taking place and the U.S. intervenes to shut it down.
Those type of interventions are very minor though….
