While the likelihood of a ground war, worst of all with US troops "o/b/o", remains low-ish, the precedent this sets regionally (and even globally) is beyond troubling. Aspects from condoning the preemption to "potentially" being the puppet hopping on the hand of the aggressor greatly weaken any credibility the US has beyond its military supremacy. I say this as an ethnic Jew and proud American. North Korea illustrated to Iran you won't get attacked if you've got nukes, fine, but the sloppy hypocrisy on display from both the ME's "only democracy" via its 20+ yr leader and our cartoonishly egotistical President have me as a lifelong Republican guy worried it'll discredit both conservatism and democracy for generations, both here and abroad.
