It’s not really the MIC this time. We as a country have clapped and jeered as all power was consolidated into the executive branch. The right got what they want and now the buck stops with Trump. He does what he wants and he is currently untouchable

I worked, 22 years ago, with a teenager who was very religious. I believe he was baptist. This was at Blockbuster. We were just talking about government and he said America should be a Christian country with Christian rulers. I told him this would just make us Iran or Saudi Arabia. He said "no, it wouldn't, Christianity is a better religion".

It was like talking to a wall. He was all for extremism and religious rule, as long as it was Christianity.

Should add “ American air strikes on Iran military weapons and facilities “ something to that effect. We did that in Syria a bunch of times with no real boots on the ground . Now a new regime that doesn’t back Iran I believe . I think I would back that but it depends on what us and not Israel

Thanks, Sherbro. I'm just interested in learning in general. There are a small handful of topics in which people could tell me very little, and this is not one of them. I've been asking questions in earnest since the start of the thread because there's a ton that I don't know or could be flat out wrong about. A lot of people tend to double down or get angry when confronted with the latter, but I don't mind at all.

not what I'm seeing. every Trump supportoer I know including myself are against the war. Just look at this poll on Sherdog and the poll Charlie Kirk did on X. It's a 90/10 split against war.

In his first remarks since Friday, when he delivered a speech broadcast on state media after Israel began bombarding Iran, Khamenei said peace or war could not be imposed on the Islamic Republic.

"Intelligent people who know Iran, the Iranian nation, and its history will never speak to this nation in threatening language because the Iranian nation will not surrender," he said.

"The Americans should know that any U.S. military intervention will undoubtedly be accompanied by irreparable damage."

Thousands of people were fleeing Tehran on Wednesday after Israeli warplanes bombed the city overnight, and a source said Trump was considering options that include joining Israel in attacking Iranian nuclear sites.

Israel's military said 50 Israeli jets had struck around 20 targets in Tehran overnight, including sites producing raw materials, components and manufacturing systems for missiles.

A source familiar with internal discussions said Trump and his team were considering a number of options, which included joining Israel in strikes against Iranian nuclear sites.

Iran had conveyed to Washington that it would retaliate against the United States for any direct participation, its ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, said. He said he already saw the U.S. as "complicit in what Israel is doing".
