Donald Trump is considering a US attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, sources tell Axios. Three US sources say the US president will meet with his advisers tonight to discuss what line the US should take in the conflict between Iran and Israel.

Two Israeli sources tell Axios journalist Barak Ravid that the Israeli government believes the US will join the war “in the coming days”.

So far, the US has helped Israel defend itself against Iranian missiles, but has not participated in any offensive battles in the conflict. During the evening, the president wrote on Truth Social that Iran must not attack civilians or US soldiers.

“Our patience is running out”, the statement says.

Trump returned early from the G7 meeting in Canada and has said during the day that he is not interested in a ceasefire but a “real end” to the war and Iran’s nuclear energy program.

Israel's land procurement and domination in the region is contingent upon lessened resistance from Muslim States. The wider the Gaza/Lebanon conflict gets, the more likely they were to have to breed resistance from Iran. Unless, of course, you destroy Iranian leadership first.

It's basically the Genghis Strategy. When besieging a city, the Mongol Army would erect a series of huge tents outside the city walls. The White Tent meant that if the city surrendered, everyone would be spared. If the city refused, the Mongols would set up the Red Tent, which meant they would kill all men of fighting age, but "only" enslave the women and children.

If the city still refused to surrender, the Mongols set up the Black Tent: this meant that once they took the city, every man, woman, child and animal would be slaughtered.

The Mongols actually preferred to avoid this where possible, as it meant a lot of hard fighting with nothing to show for it at the end. But it did have one benefit: the next city the Mongols laid siege would almost certainly surrender rather than face the Black Tent.
