Personally i'd rather see them beat more guys overall even if it means the not top guys behind you. 1 sided beatdowns are entertaining. And even more entertaining when something shocking happens and the underdog wins. More fights, more fun. When u wait for the top fights to happen. U end up with years of inactivity just to end in a stupid eyepoke and more inactivity or even worse. endless rematches.

I want to see the champ beating top competition but I do see your point because often at the top when elite fighters face eachother, it’s close and not exciting.

I wish Islam fought more. He could become a top 5 GOAT mentioned in the same breath as fedor, jones, Anderson or GSP I think if he fought more and continued to win.
