Analyzing Khabib's overrated resume.

Easily the most Rent Free fighter in UFC history.

Retired 5 years ago and people are still coping that he is statistically the most dominant MMA fighter ever.

only champ to make it to 29-0
highest rounds % won in ufc
most 10-8 rounds in ufc history
most takedowns in a fight
biggest fight in ufc history
13 UFC fight win streak (tie with GSP)
only champ to retire currently undefeated

Who gives a shit? He’s long retired and irrelevant now. Because we can’t stand somebody might put him too high up on their little made up list?

The exact decisions demonstrate Khabib's superiority over the competition.
Islam had much bigger problems against Poirier than Khabib. First fight 3-2 against featherweight fighter. Second fight Volk didn't have full camp and couldn't get his reflexes up to par. Moicano F class fighter. Oliveira dominant performance legitimately S.
Not even close to Khabib.

Actually he's still very relevant as the best coach in MMA in the corner of several champs and contenders.

Don't get it twisted.

The GOAT is here to stay and will punish haters all for eternity. If you merely root against him his aura will absorb your weak energy.

If khabib got his title shot earlier he'd have a few more names on his resume and conor would have never become champ. If he didnt get injured and take 2 yrs off, id give him the belt and victories over pettis, Benson, Alvarez, and Tony Ferguson.

Between 2014 and 2020 would say he he defends the belt 10 times.

Nobody has done to the fighters you mentioned that Khabib did. Fighting him was torture. Who else was he supposed to fight? Did he avoid anyone? This is some serious reaching to discredit the guy.

Al Iaquinta is the only blemish in his prime which was a short notice fight for him (high profile fights always have a fighter in shape to step in), but he still won… clearly. I don’t think he belongs in the GOAT conversation, but as far as ability and how he would flat out break people in there, he was very unique and deserves a lot of credit.

Khabib only defended the title three times, and only fought 5 opponents who were ever ranked top 5 at the time they fought. One of which was Conor who hadn’t fought in 2 years prior to their fight. It was merely for show. 5 of his UFC opponents were never even ranked in the top 15. He has THE absolute most padded record of anybody at the top of the sport. Only reason he retired with an 0 is because he retired in the midst of his prime once the going got tough.

This post makes sense of you only lurk win/loss records and put no weight on anything else.

In reality, Khabib is greater than the sum of his career. The early part of his career doesn't matter too much because it's his prime years toward the end that has immortalized him into the history of combat sports. He was dominant and he basically cleared out the division. He did all that without ever being in danger or getting visibly rocked.

Its clear there are many others that have better records on paper but very few people will be omitting Khabib on their top 5 list regardless because there are more important factors for greatness than records.

You spend a lot of time breaking it down in an attempt to be fair, when it isn't fair to compare fighters from different weights, eras, orgs, sports and disciplines. If you want to be fair just make a post that says "I didn't like khabib" it's quicker and easier
I like Khabib. This is an insecure response.
And yes you absolutely can compare Khabib's resume to Islam's resume to rate one higher all time.

yeah. I agree. I said this in my 2nd post.
Not all the way true though.
Islam ko'd Gleson who beat Khabib
I never discredit him. I simply address his resume being overrated.
It's like calling Dwayne Wade the NBA GOAT

I never said Khabib would loss to Islam. Read 2nd post

mma math doesn't work.
Beating Olivera & Volk twice is better then all of all of Khabib's wins.

Sometimes I feel like Conor pays people to post about how shit Khabib is, I swear I've seen a post about Khabib being overrated every single week on Twitter, Reddit & Sherdog since Khabib retired like 5 years back.

FBI should investigate this along with the betting scandal
I can tell you didn't even bother to read 2nd post.

Khabib fan here. Who cares about his fights before the UFC? What would change in his legacy if he had lost to a bum 15 years ago in Russia? Nothing. We'd just be saying he was a green fighter then who got so much better over the years in the UFC and with AKA, etc. He did what he was supposed to, win. Fans write off the losses of early fights for other fighters, but since Khabib didn't lose, it has to somehow be turned into a negative?

Khabib was the underdog once in his UFC career, against the roid rager, G. Tibau. By his retirement, there wasn't a single fighter in the top 10 that we thought could match Khabib. His being that above his competition says more about him and less about his division. And when they dropped out of his fights, another knock on Khabib would be the replacement bums... Seriously? I'd drop out too.

Dana let Conor leapfrog the division for an instant title shot, so Khabib had to implore Dana for a shot while simultaneously turning Michael Johnson into a bodybag. You can't make that up. Khabib finally immortalized himself against Conor, and showed mercy vs Justin and Dustin. Oh, but he's ducking Charles! Then Islam taps him out. Give me a break. No one was going to beat him. That's literally the main contributing factor of a GOAT.
I agree with EVERYTHING you said here.
And he is A GOAT. Just not Top 10 resume wise.

Insecure response.
You absolutely can compare resumes
Lol, insecure? Because I think caring about where a retired and irrelevant fighter sits on an imaginary list is stupid? Or even stupider, caring where other people put a fighter on their imaginary list.

A resume isn't imaginary.
Just like how you can compare Michael Jordan's resume to Dwayne Wade and say it's objectively better.
Just like how you can compare Anderson Silva's resume to Chris Leban's resume and say it's better.
Both are retired. It's not relevant. lmao

I never claimed to care. Just OBJECTIVLEY speaking facts on a combat SPORTS forum.
Yes. Your goofy ass response to a sports debate based on things that happen in reality shows insecurity.

Lmao. How can one be insecure about a topic they don’t give a shit about? I’ve long said goat talks are silly. You sure wrote a lot about something you apparently don’t care about. Probably because it bothers you where others place a fighter on their imaginary list.

I think Khabib is one of the most talented and hardworking elite level grapplers we've ever seen step foot in UFC.

HOWEVER, we don't rate people All Time based on potential. We look resume and REALITY.

You simply can not put Khabib higher all time then for example, Islam when Khabib only as 4 great wins to his name.

How dominate his "stats" look is irrelevant. Especially when fighting mostly cans (which isn't his fault)

If Khabib hypothetically would maul Islam in a fight, it's still absolutely irrelevant because it never happen within UFC competition with a referee officiating.

If there was hypothetical person on the planet who could ko the entire UFC roster but never competed in the UFC, you don't call him an all time UFC fighter when he never even fought in the UFC.

So when people call Khabib the "GOAT" when his resume (while great) is no where close to other champions, its absolutely overrating his placement as an All Timer.

Lol at objective. This entire post is opinion. There is not one objective fact in there.
