Depends how much stock you put into those two Volk wins, he was pfp #1 but unproven at 155.

Their quality of opponents is comparable overall though, the level of domination however is not. So I still have Khabib slightly ahead on the goat list until Islam beats Arman again.

Jon Jones was unrecognizable after the 1st Gustafson fight and arguably lost his last 2 fights at lhw
Adesanya has lost and had his face rearranged.
Gsp has taken alot of damage in some of his wins
Anderson Silva was lost to chonan, takase, weidman, etc
Bj Penn lost to the smaller Frankie edgar twice
Fedor almost got ko'd by fujita, got subbed by werdum and went downhill

Islam is technically a better striker but Khabib is just relentless in his grappling and so much nastier on the ground. He takes guys down and they're not getting up, they're getting pounded into submission. Most guys he fought just mentally checked out at some point in the fight.

Dude haven't you ever seen the Khabib Connor promotional material? His lunging punch gets the knock down. No one's arguing that he's a crisp striker or KO artist, I think most are actually uncertain on him as a striker. But I've never heard anyone imply that Khabib has no power.

Prime RDA, Conor, Gaethje, Poirier is a better elite strength of schedule than washed up Poirier, Olives and green Tsarukyan. Khabib was simply fighting elite competition actually in their prime. Olives is the only guy on Islam's list.

Short notice midgets up a weight class are not A-list 155 wins.

Islam's B-wins are better and deeper but he needs to beat prime Arman and another top LW to jump Khabib, as the top-end wins aren't there.
