Islams resume has surpassed khabibs

In the year 2264 AD, when there's a human-robot hybrid MMA league and Magnatron-6 wins the title, the first thing that will happen is a Sherbro will be on here saying "Magnatron 6 has already surpassed khabib".

Khabib was more dominant but the one time he fought a bigger guy in Tibau all three shedog judges scored it 30-27 for Tibau
& when Islam fought Tibau he knocked him tfo

And Volk isn't just some old 145er he was the current FW champ, while four of Khabib's best wins - Dustin, MJ, Edson & Conor were all former featherweights

But whatever imo right now it's a toss-up but another win or two & it's clearly Islam

That was a shell of Tibau to be fair.

#1 p4p Volk and Oliveira are better than anybody on Khabib's resume imo, so I agree

If he beats #1 ranked Arman, it won't be debatable

nah Islam is not Half the grappler Khabib is Also much weaker chin
He's a far superior striker with good enough grappling to keep it on the feet and Khabib has zero power so chin won't be an issue.

Tough to get great resume when you fight 1-2 times a year.

I didn't call you stupid. I think your opinion that Khabib has zero power is very stupid, though.
All good, we just disagree on the outcome of a fight that will never happen.

Like I said earlier, if we ran a poll I'd imagine it would be close to 50/50.

I reckon more would go for Khabib but recency bias is a thing so who knows.

Islam is still active, a few more wins a it may be undeniable.

In the words of UFC President Dana White, we'll see how this thing plays out.

Islams resume is better. His only knock is that ko loss in UFC debut but like you said Tibau got robbed.

Khabib would not have the same aura with a decision loss to Tibau

Neither resumes are anything special.

The best win between them would be Charles followed by a drunk Conor, an injured RDA or a 145lbs fighter in Volkanovski.

The likes of MJ, Barboza, Hooker, Dober are nothing to write home about and the fact they need to be brought up to back up either resume shows how poor they are.
Where you you put Dustin?

Michael Johnson was top 10 and knocked out Poirier before Khabib beat him so you should count him too.

Al Iaquinta was on a 5 win streak in the UFC and beat names like Masvidal (even though it was honestly a draw for me when I watched it), Lauzon, Sanchez.. he also beat Kevin Lee twice, he wasn't a can

Pat Healy is also underrated asf. He was on a 6 win streak in Strikeforce then choked out Jim Miller in the UFC before Khabib mauled him.

"drunk Conor" he actually trained really hard for that fight so that's cap and you can't know if any of JJ or GSP opponents were drunk or not before their fights

Volk made the weight so who cares. Nobody say GSP beat a 155lbs fighter in BJ Penn (in their second fight).

RDA never even mentioned him being injured (which was an ear injury btw) as an excuse for him losing. He said it's because he should've had a better fight camp.

The reality is the LW top 5 (Tsarukyan, Oliveira, Poirier, Gaethje, Hooker) were all beaten by Islam & Khabib.

Khabib never bled in the octagon
This isn't an important metric, I don't know why so many people seem to get caught up on it.

Fighters who don't engage in brawling and stand up battles often won't be susceptible to getting their face smashed in as much.

Quality of opponents beaten is the most important aspect by far, and Khabib's resume is simply nothing special in this regard.
It's just not.

"Unbeaten" and "doesn't take damage" doesn't matter when you retired with 3 or 4 great wins, the rest of your record is mostly cans.

If you don't believe Islam has overtaken him now, it's only a matter of time at this rate (unless he retires in his prime, too).

Khabib has Bagov, Eldarov, and Shabulat on his pre-UFC record as guys I'd consider legit.

I'm admittedly not as familiar with all of Islam's pre UFC fights, but Egoyan, Barnaoui are fairly legit, and Rander Junio seems ok. Maybe someone can comment how good the latter is, won't lie I don't remember a single minute of him fighting.
