Ali doing Ali things, wouldn't declare it indicative of anything. Hopefully Morales ends up getting the next title shot instead.
Lame pretenders. In Pride they would brawl backstage.
WTF is intriguing about this match up? Islam is the champion so he needs to defend against a legit #1 contender. Usman is on a 1 fight win streak after losing 3 in a row so what would be intriguing would be Usman either turning back an up and comer getting beat by one. He derailed Buckley but lets see him vs Morales or even better Prates. Prates beating two former champs in a row puts him up there for contention. If Usman wins he beat 2 surgin guys in a row and can be considered for a title eliminator.Cute and all. This matchup is indeed the most intriguing BUT it absolutely shouldn't happen. Usman has done NOTHING to earn this. Being 1-3 in his last four doesn't get him a shot at the belt no matter how intriguing this matchup is. Shavkat, Morales, Garry, and Prates are ahead of him. He needs at least 1 (I'd say 2) more dominant win.
That's not a face off. That is Abdelaziz trying to force something to happen that hopefully never happens. It should be Shavkat vs Islam and if Usman wants a last shot he should have to fight Morales. That can be a #1 contender fight.
