Media Islam, Usman and Umur (64-2) make me realize how special Khabib is

Khabib is 36. He would be losing today.

That's what you guys don't understand.
Khabib has like 30 pounds on Islam. At 36 he beats Islam now worse than he ever has due to size alone.

He can't even go 90% on Islam or he'll injure him.

Thats a domination

People always try to talk about this domination as a talking point against Khabib.

Imagine that. Straw grasping at its finest 50-43 with multiple 10-8 rounds.

If you think Khabib could unretire and beat Islam right now that says everything we need to know about you

Khabib doesn't need to come out of retirement to fight his friend who he mauls in the gym every day.

What does you still being obsessed with Khabib because he smashed your boy say about you? The projection and cope is off the wall.

29-0 now and forever

Khabib would lose today. He’s 36, has been retired for 5 years, and has a striking disadvantage. Pretending otherwise is retarded.

Stick to your fantasies that prime vs prime Khabib wins, but definitely not today. Nobody would favour him and it’s silly to pretend otherwise.

Khabib could never make LW today you are the one that made up the hypothetical matchup going around hiding behind Islam because your fallen idol couldn't get the job done 8 years ago <lol>yikes get over it already

I think it's pretty obvious Khabib was a better grappler than Islam and more gifted in terms of durability, strength and athleticism. Apparently he used to toy with Islam in training. Islam can make a case for GOAT LW if he keeps accumulating hardware but then you value quantity over quality. It still doesn't make him as good as Khabib was.

Gaethje has wins where he outstruck prime Tony (took him out of his prime), Fiziev, Dustin Poirier (head kick knockout), Micheal Johnson, Barboza... who has Paul Hughes beat again?
A bunch of overrated, older fighters. Tony wasn't in his prime at 37. He had already started to show :eek::eek::eek::eek:s in his armor, and it was only a matter of time. Paul Hughes beat AJ McKee who is better than everyone you just named and actually a young fighter in his prime. Remember Michael Chandler got destroyed in his prime and ran out of town by the people that are at the top of the Bellator LWs right now. Gaethje fought a back and forth fight, took crazy amounts of damage, against an older Chandler.

the guy literally said himself he doesn't like to wrestle. like the guy himself.

yeah like i said he sure used it well against khabib where it made Conor look like aldo against khabib.
He uses it like Dan Henderson which is very little if at all. To try and argue that Gaethje is that level of wrestler at this point is insane and shows he's making bad faith arguments.

I know right? Like it would be easy work for Usman. Like free money easy. But I need to say that Justin is GOAT wrestler in this thread lol

They weren't old or overrated when Justin beat them.

Time, how does it work?

Who wins between Usman Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje?
The Usman that fought tonight would probably lose to prime Justin, but guess what? He's only 26 so he'll get much better.

He'll never be as good as Khabib though because Khabib was wrecking peak RDA when Khabib was only 25.

Khabib had incredible pace, no matter how much training those guys do they'll never be able to match Khabibs genetics.

These guys are all amazing, future GOAT's possibly, but none look anywhere near as dominant as Khabib who whoops them in the sparring room with superior grappling and top control. They've all taken beatings even though they usually win but Khabib never has.

Lot's of fighters in MMA are well rounded, and Khabib's effective striking was more limited, but he had a way more controlling ground game which is what made him dominate.
I have always thought that Kabib benefited from being relatively unknown early on, plus his style was pretty much unknown. He caught people off guard and his aura scared people

Ruslam Khabilov also came in and took the spotlight with his crazy fight ending slams.

When Kabib started to ascend, his style was so strong and benefited from being “new” that he was able to benefit more than the others. Very much similar to Royce Gracie in his uniqueness (but not to the extent of Royce)

Islam is great but his style is being heavily studied and broken down. He was a round away from being beaten by volk, mostly because Volk is a beast plus studied Islam intensely.

It's fairly obvious to anybody who actually watched his fights that Khabib wouldn't have been able to go 5 rounds at a high pace though. He wasn't some Jones, GSP, Cain, Merab, who really could go 5 straight fine or dig deep for a championship round victory when he needed it.

He had two plans: win before he tires or try and re-group after he tires for a second wind. Which is fine but pretending he was a Merab is absolutely insane.

Khabib was far more like a Cormier who pushed a pace hoping to outlast an opponent, not because he himself wasn't worriedl about gassing. It was entirely about making them quit first before you.
