Islam Makhachev's 16 fight winstreak are more umpressive then Anderson Silva's

I don’t know Islam is a huge star I would even go as far as to say in the social media age he’s a bigger or at least more recognisable figure than Silva to many fans.
Not relative to his time though. Those casual viewers probably already knew of the UFC before they knew of Islam, while I feel Silva probably introduced many people to the sport.

Well good night good sir.

I keep getting quoted by Android fans about this, we agree to disagree!
The only times Silva took drugs was specfically to fix his broken leg tbf.
All of Silva's greatest career moments an accomplishments was pre-leg break.
He was never the same after that.

Yeah. Islam overall has a better resume and you argue Top 1 GOAT status.

Although, Silva has some great wins.
Silva's best win was 2008 Prime Henderson imo which is great.
The Forrest Griffin win was great for it's time because he was recently LHW champ at the time and Silva moved up for that.

I rate the first Sonnen win and the Belfort win highly too because they used performance enhancers.

Anderson Silva is still Top 10 all time for me. At one point, he was the GOAT.

Idk but prime Dan Henderson(probably top 10 all time or close) is a pretty good freaking win for Anderson. 2nd round sub. People love to discredit andesons title reign. Even if Islam does break his victory record he will never have 10 title defenses with most of them being spectacular finishes.
Exactly. Anderson finished 4 hall of famers (Henderson, Rich, Vitor, Forest) in a combined 15 minutes.

It was necessarily the streak but how he was winning. These guys weren't cans they were hall of famers that were top 3 of the weight class at the time.

Both are impressive, but Anderson's run was more memorable because of his style.

Only core mma fans will remember Islam a decade from now while the magic of Anderson's Matrix like highlight reel will live on forever.
