I was watching the DC/Islam interview after Volk replaced Chucky and found it very suprising to hear DC say Mak was walking around 200lbs, he replies and says obviously now he is close to fight he is 183-184 which is still pretty crazy.

No wonder this dude needs 35+ hours to rehydrate, so Islam weight bully confirmed?

Everyone cuts weight like this in the UFC. I don't think you understand that weight gaining is probably one of the most competitive edges you can get. So top guys will always cut lots of weight. I'm sure everyone hates it but there isn't a real alternative.
I understand exactly why fighters cut, but a LW walking around 45lbs above his weight class is a little much even if out of camp. Most fighters try to aim for that 20lbs weight cut so they try to get down to around that number before they begin their cut to the weight limit.

I like your thinking, but we've had too many guys stretching the limits, so to rise to the top the rest have to too in order to stay competitive. Fighters have pushed it further and further. If you go back 10 years ago, those fighters would be in a lower weight class than they are today. We had guys like Tibau do it for a long time in the UFC. The extra weight is the decider for grappling.

The title is accurate. DC said it.

I mean this part where he is clearly misquoting Islam and then later going on to use that misquote to bash him.

Islam said the max that he has ever been in his life is 183-84lbs . Not that his fight shape is 183-184lbs

Yeah there is definitely fighters who push that limit without question, it's the reason a lot of fighters miss weight because they are simply to big for the weight class and try to cut way to much weight. I still cannot believe they have not implemented some rules to stop such drastic cuts.

That's not what his broken English says at all, he said something along the lines of at lightweight I weigh 183-184 and DC calls BS.

Not lying just posting what was said ya goof.
Yes it is. Watch it again and slow it down if you need to but what Islam says is Maximum 183-184lbs. Never once does he even mention lightweight so I dont get where you heard that. Maybe youre talking about another clip.

I am not bashing anyone dude, you sound real defensive bro.

It's hard to understand what he is saying, I hear something like "at LW I weigh 183-184" but maybe he says "in my life I weigh 183-184" but either way DC calls BS straight after and Mak starts laughing.

Me too, but consensus is if they impose the limit on rehydration the next day, fighters just will fight drained + dehydrated and there's health concerns. Until then guys are going to keep cutting until cutting really actually gives them less odds.
