Media Islam Makhachev became a gymnast

Thanks.
But do you see how physical and stiff that backflip is? Or is it just me?
I can't do a standing backflip but when I'm on a rock or a chair that's how I look but maybe it is a stiffness? I know I'm not the one to make that call so perhaps it is.

GSP was always very stiff in my opinion. I don't have a good explanation for it, clearly the guy was an insane athlete he had a wild blend of explosivity, endurance and strength. His learning curve in regards to wrestling was perhaps the greatest we've ever seen in MMA. His kicks always looked stiff to me, like he lacked hip mobility and he'd straight leg the roundhouses a lot. His padwork was always very ugly too and he was super tight in the shoulders and an upper body puncher. I think most people agree GSP appeared robotic at times.
you know I was always perplexed when watching GSP, he always looked off to me an athlete a bit, like I realized that he is a great athlete, but he lacked something, and that's exactly what it is, he is a bit stiff. Its like he is explosive, but he is not graceful, and moves a bit like a stone doing it. Its good that someone brought it up, cause Its been always in my mind, bothering me a bit...

I agree 100%.

I swear gymnasts are so gay but the real Olympic ones are some of the best athletes in the world. Up there right under the real sports like running swimming wrestling etc.

It's true that GSP was doing a bit of gymnastics but it's weird in a sense that he has shown to be a bit stiff and uncoordinated. Not sure what to attribute it to, but he had a hard time doing a backflip or even a spring without looking weird and stiff. I'm not even sure I ever seen him doing a clean backflip. Obviously he has all the tools to do these easily but something is missing. Obviously technique is one thing that's missing but just fluidity of motion is off when I saw him do these things.

Even boxing he was stiff as hell with them hands.
Just relax GSP.

It's just his riddum. Don't try to understand it. Many have tried, but weren't ready for that riddum.

How is being a gymnast gay, but MMA isn't?
Because violence is masculine but doing a twirl in the air and people clapping for you aren't. Both physically demanding

Thanks.

Maybe it’s the perfectionist in him. He might be wanting to stick to the form he learned down to a T all the way through.

I quote-

“Gymnastics training emphasises body weight strength to improve core strength, reflexes, whole body muscle extension and flexion, and balance. Gymnasts are some of the strongest athletes in the world and gymnastics strength training can help tone all muscles and assist in decreasing chronic muscle soreness and pain”

Gymnast Islam will be even more unstoppable. Another avenue to understand ones body even more.
