That's a good thing. I was replying to someone who implied this had nothing to do with Islam's skillset.

It does come down to his skillset but he isn't some defensive genius on the feet. His risk management is great by avoiding striking exchanges

Avoiding something is genius but what happens if he's forced to stand. (I think is highly unlikely)

BTW he stood for more than 2 rounds against Davi Ramos and only absorbed 7 significant strikes in the whole fight.

You mean in a hypothetical boxing or kickboxing match his striking defence wouldn't hold? This is MMA, so all things allowed under MMA rules (including TD threat) are valid contributing skills to one's striking defence.

Someone who spends all his time on the ground, absorbs a low number of strikes per minute. What a revelation...
