Is Shara Bullet the weakest hype train in a while?

Are we judging a Dagestani on TDD based on one fight where he just accepted bottom position?

I haven’t seen all of his other fights, @Hellowhosthat how is his wrestling/grappling based off of what you’ve seen?

Seems to have read it better before. Dealt with it fine against Ragozin who's a good fighter with a bit of wrestling. Seems to me he didn't really respect the wrestling of Bruno and that Bruno timed him well off the kicks. When fighters have shot from a distance I haven't seen them have much success with them and they often end up eating clinch knees for their troubles.

Here's the Ragozin fight if you're interested.

Consensus on here after his fight seemed to be like “nice kicks, decent striking, but big holes in the grappling, besides striking from the bottom”. Honestly, after all the build-up on here of his fans, I didn’t expect him to look so one-dimensional. Sure Alex Pereira has had success with a striking-base, and has been working on his grappling lots, but is Shara capable of the same? I don’t see too much going well for him when he starts fighting ranked contenders, and just compared to Khamzat, Shavkat, Aliskerov, Umar, he seems kind of weak in comparison. Anyone else feel the same? Tell me why I’m wrong.

Hes got a cool nickname, one eye and hes from dagestan what else do you want? Dude is the complete package... Minus the grappling.

Thanks brav. Just watched it. The kicking dexterity this dude has is off the charts. Reminds me of Umar Nurmagomedoc a bit aswell how he can use the lead leg side kick as a jab to the face.

TDD looked decent based on the few exchanges they had. Shara landed a nice TD in the 3rd round of his own. I’m curious to see how he will hold up against guys like Hermansson and Vettori but it’s clear nobody is gonna want to strike with this dude.

I always thought Shara was supposed to be fun not a top guy at MW. MW is pretty trash in top 10, so I could see him getting there, but it's not anything huge like he's going to dominate everyone.

I don't think I've ever heard or seen someone legitimately claim he is a future champ.

He's a fun fighter just because of the hype train. Share may or may not end up being the same.

People talk about hype trains like they are bad thing or don't like them but they are fun. Except when UFC uses it as an excuse to have one main event a weak card when they aren't even in the top 20 rankings

I thought his striking defence would have been better. Fun fighter would needs to improve his weaknesses a lot to be a title challenger.

Shara isn't that bad but he is not winning any titles.
