that's right, and it's also a young male fantasy, the lone, indomitable, macho man. It's a fantasy that's put many, many people in prison and in graves. There's a vid by a black undertaker I can post where he goes off on the entire genre.

And, it's the only major american "music" form that generally has no melody and the producers often can't play a single instrument, it's been that way for 40 years and not that much has changed except it's gotten even dumber. These kids today just mumble and can't even speak halfway intelligible. It's definitely popular though, 9 times out of ten, when I hear music in passing cars it's hip hop and it's usually a male driving and living in his little fantasy that the music has falsely pumped up so many young men with.

Now that these idiots have gotten old themselves, they are regretting some of the shit they put out and I have a friend who was a hip hop nut when he was young, he's saying a different thing today, now that he had 4 kids. Just like he used to smoke pot all the time and regrets it because his kids do, it's the same with how he views hip hop. whole different thing when it comes to begetting life and having them follow in something that is clearly backwards.

I remember when it was still fresh and optimistic for the most part. It reminded me a lot of early rock where everyone said it wasn't music and was garbage but it was innocent and it did bring folks together. Then, they got the idea that young males love being thugs and tough guys and women love it too and that was the death knell. Sure, it didn't have a lot of merit before that but there were still some exceptional songs put out (still are, I'm sure but I'm not listening to all the crap to get to it). Before it was all about guns and dysfunction it had some redeeming qualities. The joy in some of it was contagious. MC serch's vid, the gasface is a great example of how it brought races together and that there was a time that a good song didn't have to be full of rage.

Also, someone said it was effecting just the black community, true for the most part but I see "wiggers" of all kinds trying to act out the angry young male role and using the n word. It's ridiculous, asians screaming the n word and threatening to beat up their boy for something stupid, ya, seen that before. And worst yet, how many black males think being defiant and angry is their way to go through life and get their way? Sneering in traffic and shit. I give them the finger when I see it, I was around the best fighters in the world and they didn't act like that and no punk is going to impress me.
