I can get into rap songs if the beat is catchy and I can understand the lyrics. Unfortunately, the majority of rap music has neither.

If you want try some underground rap like Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Grind Mode Cypher or something like that.
Mumbling is a nogo in that scene and even me as a German who doesn´t speak english fluently is able to understand everything. I own about 30GB of that genre and I like everything. And that as an old (death)metal head.
