The Southern rappers are all generally horrible. Most modern rap sucks as well IMO.
 
There will always be a place for degenerate music on Friday/Saturday nights. When you walk into a night club and looking to get turnt (sp?) up, meet some chicks, and talk shit with da boyz.... You are NOT gonna want to listen to Bog Seger, John Melloncamp, or gospel music. You wanna listen to some guilty pleasure/irresponsible stuff. I'm guilty of it also.

He is not interested in core....core in rap is text with very deep meaning even between lines...untold words.

This is good style, I ofc might evalue also classic music and pop too.

Rap is about texts.

Likes or doesn't likes it is close to soul for a lot of ppl.


If I had to pick male singer about quality....the same russian lad Mikhailov is beauty. Normal quality for classic, despite relatively small guy, was able to generate stuff like large 35 y.o opera singer...when he was 18-21 y.o. Excellent according to notes without using any tech adds.... really good for hall with good acoustics. Disciplined, keeping nuances in notes...really good discipline and gas tank, good memory plus straight and simple classic guy.
More masculine and powerful than Dimash guy. Better gas tank too.

Eminem is stuff with damn a lot of things between lines in text. Some kind of icon of rap music even today.
Cos this. Stuff is very realistic and even more painful between lines. Regardless from origin and location.

But yes I agree probably not a night club, which was never much my thing anyways.
 
He's saying this to give him and other gangster rappers a pass for peddling degeneracy to kids and making millions. Record companies don't have much power anymore, it's a lot of independent musicians making a name on social media and they're still rapping about bad shit
