UFC saved him from dying
I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the amount of weight he missed with at the Diaz fight since he had started rehydrating again when weighing in at 9 lbs over. We don't know how close he was when the doctors recommended he should stop. But you are right, he is very big for WW.
i agree he is expecting to get a gift fight like he did with burns.I think it is quite simple. He can’t make 170, so That’s over for him, and at 185 he wants fights he does not deserve, like top 3. And he does not want any of that smoke what almost all the top 15 middleweights can bring him. He is probably trying to bulk at the moment, to be able to implement his game at MW in the future.
him vs shavkat would be a good fight, but after the weight miss, i don't want to see him rewarded.I have only heard rumors about Khamzat never fighting WW again. He's missed weight one time and according to him he rehydrated which is why it was by so much. I'd prefer him to either have a title shot or a match for #1 contender vs Shavkat then a title shot. If he gets WW title it would be crazy to see him go for MW and LHW after.
Him and Darren already got married?
We don't really know what his process is, if he just tries to lose water a couple of days before the fight there are clearly things he can do better but that's all speculation. He is also only 28 and a lot of people tend to put on muscle when they are approaching 30 so it will definately not be easier in the future. I agree with you that his future is probably in the higher weight classes.Maybe, but 2 straight misses at the scale ( 1 he clearly cheated) is pretty much a wrap. Cause 1 thing about weight cutting is its only going to get tougher. It will never go the other way.
Khamzat will never fight againI hope he'll fight at WW again because there are lots of fights I'd like to see.
This. He fears Khamzat because he knows he can run through every fighter at 170 and 185 in one round. That's why Khamzat will never be allowed to fight again. Literally blacklisted because of talent.Nah, Dana has a huge dad boner for Colby. He needs to clear the entire division out of the way in order to make him champion. It's just typical pro wrestling shit. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire missing weight fiasco was orchestrated in the first place.
I get it but he's the only guy with a top 5 win in the division right now of the guys who deserve title shot.him vs shavkat would be a good fight, but after the weight miss, i don't want to see him rewarded.
with a number 1 contender fight or title shot
that is a sad state of affairs isn't it.I get it but he's the only guy with a top 5 win in the division right now of the guys who deserve title shot.
UFC we'll see Colby fight this year. Next year Masvidal. Maybe end of 2024 Belal/Shavkat/Khamzat will finally get a chance.that is a sad state of affairs isn't it.
its all about entertainment now anyways. i would rather see shavkat get a shot after edwards takes on gilbert.
For his second fight in the UFC he made WW 10 days after weighing in at 185. Yes the fight was in Abu Dhabi but like I said it was his second fight and there was really only hype behind him amongst the hardcores, and certainly not enough to give him preferental treatment like thatIm skeptical about his weight for his fights in the UAE in the UFC. I think he was overweight in at least one of those fights if not all.
The dude is not a WW, he should be at MW.
Don't tell me that him missing weight had anything to do with it. If Dana cares about something as stupid and arbitrary as making weight he shouldn't be in the fight business.
Because they had to scrap an entire card and start over from scratch just because the doctor told him to stop cutting weight...
They ended up with better fights that also made more sense anyways.
