Chook isn't particularly athletic.
Eh, personally, I feel like she's won most of her fights due to cardio and athleticism. More the cardio, but def the athleticism a lot as well.

That shit looks just as crazy as when it was first posted, how in the hell? Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.Dominated Rose?
LOL. Fiorot got outstruck by a one-handed Rose, who dislocated a finger on her lead hand in the first round.

The one who made the (formerly) arguable WMMA GOAT look silly?I'm not saying she's a bad fighter or anything but I can't see anything special about her beyond her privileged size for 125. She is not the best striker and much less the better grappler. Is her take down defense great? The only one tried took her to the ground was the not very athletic Blanchfield and her telepgraphed takedowns
Seems to me she is a younger Holly Holm
privileged size
Holm as much less than everyone thought she would be after humiliating Rousey. The expectation was to be dominant and she fell in the first defenseYeah she'll have an average career like former world champion and multiple times world title challenger Holly Holm.
She wins by keeping range and Chook Chooking people to death.
I'd maybe use Maycee Barber instead.
How good is her ground game? She has not even been tested in other fields of fight to to be called well roundedThe one who made the (formerly) arguable WMMA GOAT look silly?
Fiorot is well rounded in a shallow division.
As far as development, at > 34 years old, she needs to stake her claim quick.
I agreeIf you look up what athleticism is, you'll see that it's a range things done to a certain level. speed, strength, and agility are the cores, but there's other parts to it like mobility, agility, aerobic ability, etc.
Like, Manon, Nat Silva, Rose, Val, Chook, etc. all possess a lot of those, which is huge for them. There's been whole fights where girls can't even touch Val, Rose, and Nat because they're so for ahead with their mobility, agility, and speed alone. All 3 have the aerobic ability too. All of them meet the strength as well.
Manon keeps her range as a result of mobility. She's also very strong and everything is done quickly enough.
What's important though is that none of them are so low in any one area that it compromises them.
A girl like Barber has a bit of all that, but she's not particularly fast or overly mobile. She's more just strength. The mobility drags her down.
Erin has almost no speed or agility, but she's very strong and has cheat code anaerobic ability. The speed drags her down.
Both Barber and Erin would need a bit more for me. You gotta have a bit more than just 2-3 elements and have nothing drag you down too much.
On the other end of the spectrum, not counting girls who have next to nothing of anything, like say Manic Mann, you have someone like Gillian, who likely has enough of just about every metric, but then is so absolutely far behind with her speed that nearly all of her losses have come as a result of not being able to shoot fast enough on her opponent.
Na Liang is another one like that: completely dominates in nearly every metric. Top level speed, strength, mobility, agility, etc. to the point where she was the best so called "athlete" to come out of the UFC P.I., which was nonsense because she had absolutely 0 anaerobic ability at all lol, and got finished in every one of her fights as a result.
No idea why I'm writing an essay on how I perceive athleticism in WMMA, but here we are lol. I've made amazing cash just betting on the girl who I know is noticeably "snappier" if that makes sense. They usually always win when it comes to WMMA. It leads to very clear visuals for the judges, if not outright easy ways for the fighter to win.
I agree
I felt like Grasso looked smaller than was in the two previous fights. Did you see it too? In first and second fight it seemed like she was as strong as Valentina in the clinch, fence and ground
It's all relative. How good is her ground game? She has not even been tested in other fields of fight to to be called well rounded
