Well what is the average boxer? We only know of the actual good boxers, there's a lot of tomato cans out there too
This is the question.

Relative to the average man? Unquestionably, he's an above average boxer, fighter, and all-around athlete. By far.
Relative to the average hobbyist boxer? Unquestionably, he's above average.
Relative to the average competitive amateur boxer? Unquestionably, he's above average.
So the question must mean: Relative to the average professional boxer?

As others have observed, it's hard to tell, because he only has three fights against real boxers: Tommy Fury, Andre August, and Ryan Bourland. But that's enough. BoxRec uses a simple ELO formula to calculate the rankings of all the fighters in its database. You can read about it here:
https://boxrec.com/wiki/index.php/BoxRec_Ratings_Description

BoxRec has 1,328 professional Cruiserweights in the world actively ranked
Tommy Fury is ranked #96 in the world among Cruiserweights. Jake lost the split decision.
Andre August is ranked #300 in the world among Cruiserweights. Jake won by KO.
Ryan Bourland is ranked #288 in the world among Cruiserweights. Jake won by TKO.

Jake is ranked #104 by pure ELO with their calculator.

So the answer to the last is...yes. Also yes. Unquestionably, Jake Paul is above average relative to other professional boxers.

I think he's above average yeah.

Most journeymen don't knock out anyone, or have 1 hitter quitter or the speed or timing to ever pull it off. Against anyone. Hence why they're journeymen.

I'd give the kid 6.3/10

When people think "professional boxer" they think of the guys they usually see on TV who are fighting for world titles and getting global attention. They don't think about the multitudes of 4 and 6 rounders who box as a side hustle or passion outside of their regular jobs.
When I tell people I used to box professionally, they can't believe it because they're comparing me to the guys they know like Mike Tyson or Floyd Mayweather. The average person doesn't even know that there's different levels. Paul is definitely an above average professional fighter when you consider that there are many many pro fighters who aren't good enough to fight on the global stage.

That being said, the highest level amateur boxers will also probably beat Paul. I'd like to see Paul against guys who just came out of the Olympics and see how he does. Maybe against an opponent who qualified but didn't medal. Gold medalists will probably beat him in the professional ring.

So many levels to boxing it's ridiculous, when you look at what Crawford did to Spence recently it just confirms it, and that's just at the elite level.

And some of those elite amateurs seem to have better skills than a lot of pros, Paul seems more suited to the pro game to be honest, an Olympic medallist probably boxes his ears off though.

Exactly. There are thousands of professional boxers.. most of them are cans. Jake must be better than most of them. I don't see much point to "above average" or "below average" discussions without any context.

Can Jake beat a top 50 fighter? a top 100? a top 300? what is his ceiling? That is a better question.

I think the kid put a lot of effort but you either have it or not.. and he does not. He compensates with his hard work and dedication and maybe some PEDs but he does not have the talent.
Guys like Wilder (boxing) and Cyril Gane (MT and MMA) managed to go to the top starting their sports in their 20s.. that is talent. In Gane case he also half assed his entire career.

I have trained combat sports for 20 years (I'm 37) and I became pretty good at it at some point... for an amateur level. The difference between myself and the pro guys was laughable. It wasn't something I could train for.. they just born to be better than me at that specific sport nulls brawl apk indir son sürüm.
Jake Paul has made a name for himself in the boxing world, even though his opponents have often been criticized for not being seasoned boxers. While many may not like him, it’s hard to ignore his progress and ability to promote fights, as well as his skill set in the ring. His selectiveness in choosing opponents, while strategic, does make it harder to gauge his true potential against top-tier fighters. Overall, he’s above average for someone with limited experience, but only time will tell how he performs against more experienced, established boxers.
