Rose lost to Carla with a terrible gameplan. She was the more talented fighter and could've probably won that fight by being more aggressive. Rose is too small to be fighting at WFLW. I think Rose needs a new voice in her corner. I think having Pat Barry in her corner is now hurting her career rather than help it. The time for that was 10 years ago. She actually successfully had him out of her corner on fight nights for a while IIRC. Naturally he Pat Barryd his way back in.

Mostly because she fought like an idiot by having a kickboxing match with Rose instead of abusing her in the clinch. Rose was hurt and looking like she wanted to go home and cry after eating a couple knees in the clinch, Manon could've made the fight a lot easier for herself by going after the clinch and really bullying Rose instead of resetting and staying on the outside.

No, she's doing fine. Rose is a head case and isn't very physically gifted/strong, and has still managed to become champ and have a very good record. Something is obviously going right with the coaching/game planning.

I think Pat Barry needs to be fired. I know she trains with Valentina and that seems like a good training partner for her. I'm not sure she needs a new gym. If she did, I haven't done the proper research to determine where the best combination of coaches and training partners would be. For instance, Merab seems to have benefited from not only being with Longo/Serra but having Aljo as a training partner. Do you think Pat Barry is doing a good job in her corner lately?

If there was a time to do that it was after the Esparza fight, but you could equally blame Trevor Whitman who sat there watching that embarrassment unfold and didn't instill any urgency in her either. I don't think you can blame Pat for this one, whats he supposed to do about her finger, magically unbreak it in 60 seconds between rounds? the only options were try to keep her confident, or throw in the towel, if the towel wasn't being thrown in then he did his job. She's a fighter not a delicate flower who has to stop cause her pinky hurts, you signed up for a fight, getting hurt can be part of the consequences, you deal with it and keep fighting.

IMO Rose's situation has parallels with Ronda & Edmond; both fighters are headcases and their coach isn't just a coach but a large part of their emotional support team, plus there's also a strong co-dependent relationship between the coach & fighter. One could easily make the argument that they'd get better coaching elsewhere from a skills perspective, but I'm not convinced either fighter could move to another team without having a complete mental breakdown.

No real issue. She had her debut in a new division and she busted her finger within the first few moments of the fight. She fought till the end and lost a decision. She doesn't train only with Pat and Colorado Wittman.

I'm trying to be very specific why I think Pat shouldn't be her head coach. She had a a terrible gameplan in the Carla fight. I think with a better gameplan she wins that fight and maybe runs through Cookie Monster. I thought it was a bad idea to move up in weight. I understand Rose is mentally fragile and might fall in and out of love with fighting at times so she might not be easy to coach. I think there are a lot of good things happening in her training. I like her well-rounded skillset and I think technically she's towards the top of the women.

Well Rose fighting with one hand is also a big factor. Its very bad. I had that exact injury playing futbol. Your finger spins the exact opposite and messes with your psyche.
