Well Rose fighting with one hand is also a big factor. Its very bad. I had that exact injury playing futbol. Your finger spins the exact opposite and messes with your psyche.

That and being outsized were the biggest factors in the loss.
I just think people should cool off with the age and coach excuse. She just turned 31, and the day before her fight with Carla there wasn't this fake concern about her coaching staff.

People were creeped out by Pat screwing her since she was a teen, but less concern about his coaching.

IMO Rose's situation has parallels with Ronda & Edmond; both fighters are headcases and their coach isn't just a coach but a large part of their emotional support team, plus there's also a strong co-dependent relationship between the coach & fighter. One could easily make the argument that they'd get better coaching elsewhere from a skills perspective, but I'm not convinced either fighter could move to another team without having a complete mental breakdown.

I think Pat Barry needs to be fired. I know she trains with Valentina and that seems like a good training partner for her. I'm not sure she needs a new gym. If she did, I haven't done the proper research to determine where the best combination of coaches and training partners would be. For instance, Merab seems to have benefited from not only being with Longo/Serra but having Aljo as a training partner. Do you think Pat Barry is doing a good job in her corner lately?

I honestly don't think Pat should be giving her technical advice at all in the corner, that should only be done by Trevor tbh.

Pat should be her cheerleader and emotional support and nothing more.
I feel like he lives through her, but he also places his fears on/in her, and I don't think she needs that.

He's a great training partner for her, whether it's holding pads, rolling with her, light sparring....but never game plan or technical advice sir.

Barry was giving good advice about fighting southpaw - fighting a natural southpaw is very tricky though, you lose your power hands. That's why people should train in both stances. Like Shane Mosley or Pernell Whitaker or Crawford.

Perhaps. I think she's too much of a mental case and it'll always be a gamble for herself, team and fans if she can perform. Granted, I don't think she's going to have much success at 125 and should go back to 115 but we'll see.

Pat Barry turned Rose into a boyish image. She's a great fighter and has great human spirit, encompassing many great qualities. Pat almost seems to have a creepy bf/ trainer vibe similar to Diego Sanchez's ex trainer/partner. Then again, maybe Rose shaves her head to keep the heathen Sherdog hoard from using her image to shoot the white hot rope.

Rose with hair is pretty, without hair she looks like a boy.
