This^ hadn't listened to Smiths for like 20 years then had them on repeat for the past 2 years. The live versions of Still Ill, Ask, and Some Girls are way better than the studio versions and Suedehead and that one about the seaside town are Morrisey's best tracks. That's my take away from my Smiths immersion.
 
Stopped listening to new music in 2010 for the most part. Still have a handful of artists that I keep up with but most focus is on old time music.
 
Yea definitely more bass and vocals and a chorus would make it better. Sounds like a never ending rave song that never drops the beat. The girl with the upside down cross on her forehead made up for it for me.
 
I find even songs from when I was a teenager that I didn't like back then, I love now. Something about it takes you back.

I was never a Goo Goo Dolls fan but I love them now.

I listen to 60s-90s music. Almost exclusively.

What speakers did you roll with?


I’ve been getting into vintage stereo setups recently and just picked up a Yamaha cr-2020 (circa 78-80 I believe) and got my patents old ass KLH’s from ages ago hooked up to them in my front room.. I’m playing mostly MP3’s right now but will hook up other shit later.


Not the most insane setup by any means but pretty cool for the front room.. I plan on grabbing a Pioneer 50 series at some point and a San-Sui as well
 
I'm definitely in that camp. I could name albums that I like that have come out in the past 20 years in two hands. Maybe a foot too if I'm being generous
 
My daughter listens to some new stuff, but probably more than half is old stuff. So yeah I think there might be some good new music but even kids today are acknowledging that the old stuff is great.

It's not like the 60's and 70's where nobody wanted to listen to their parents music.

Even in youth, we listened to plenty of "classic rock" that was 20 years older.

We were listening to The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and Pink Floyd in the 90s.

But yes, regardless of what time the original piece was from the stuff you were listening to from ages 15-25 tends to stick for life.
