It seems like the classic corporate Peter Principle, where an employee like Conor works himself up to where he is overpaid and under worked. Success to the employee, but of little use anymore for the employer. I think Conor may still bring in big money to the UFC, but the excessive pay, associated costs, and headaches that come along with him, make him no more of a bottom line benefit to the UFC than the average Joe. The UFC keeps him around under contract for the name and the drama, and if he fights okay, if not that is just as okay, without the headaches or adolescent drama.

Dustin is lucky that Conor had a pre existing micro fracture coming into the fight. Dustin would have been immobilized, battered and humiliated had it gone another round or two.
