Is Adesanya Done at a Chamionship Level or Does He Take This Agaisnt Dricus?

If Izzy shows up physically and mentally prepared, he should outclass Dricus. I expect him to have a solid gameplan for what Dricus offers. There is a talent gap between the two and that makes Izzy dangerous in the first half of the fight.

In Dricus favor is his durability. The longer the fight goes, the more I like his odds. If he can weather a beating I can see Izzy wearing down in the later rounds with DDP surging back and putting it on Izzy. I also wouldn't put it past DDP to catch Izzy at some point. His funky approach makes that a possibility.
 
This might be the best test Adesanya's had in years. Or it could be easy work. I really can't say. Unlikely to be boring.
As a big Izzy fan, I'm probably not the only one who had my faith shaken to it's core after his Strickland fight.
But I feel like the classic, flowy, crispy Adesanya of old would cook DDP's "Wreck'em Ralph", bull in China shop style. Not sure what kind of mental or physical condition he'll be in though.

He will be back and dominate. Probably slight underdog against alex though other than that, he beats everyone else

Not a big fan of Izzy, but he is no scrub. If he comes in like he did against Strickland then DDP will put it on him. If he comes in looking like he did against Poatan in their last meeting then it'll be a barn burner. DDP is gonna be ready for war so Izzy better be in the mindset like he used to be of willing to die in the octagon.
 
I think the biggest thing no one is bringing up about Israel is that he’s 35.
That’s when thing usually start falling off as a fighter. Especially for a guy who relies on reactions and fast twitch fighting .
 
Not sure. I think this fight will tell us. I honestly think a motivated Izzy (like against Poatan rematch) would be a heavy favourite.

Izzy is a mental midget and might get treated the same way he did against Strickland. That said he’s also a very capable fighter and if he’s feeling it, he might go out there and put on a clinic too.
 
My gut feeling is that Dricus will win.

Israel will win the first, maybe the second too by jabbing and countering Dricus but eventually one overhand will hit his chin rocking him and then Dricus will bulldoze him to the ground and maul him.

Or Israel will knock him out early and then call out Pereira for the 205 strap.

My problem is that according to Hooker, iirc. He said Izzy weighs 105KG, or 231 pounds.

If that was even remotely true, it means Izzy has to cut 46 pounds to hit championship weight.

I’m kind of assuming he’s full of shit, though. That’s such a huge number, it sounds impossible. But if it all is true. How would cutting that much weight affect his brain, and body? He probably only cut about 20 lbs his whole UFC MW career.

I’m hoping to get some kind of proof of his weight. Other than just a teammate saying he weighs 105KG.

Hooker was full of shit, unless he meant that Izzy put on a 30lb beer belly while sitting on the couch watching his bets against Poatan go up in flames.
Izzy weighed in at 200.5lbs against Jan, he hasn't put on 30lbs of muscle lmao.

I was picking DDP as a terrible stylistic matchup against adesanya even before the Bobby Knuckles fight, even when people were pushing "DDP gasses" even though it was obvious his tank was fine, he just had a fucked septum/sinus. I guess that's my bias though, as I was stabbed through the nose years ago and can relate to necessity based mouth breathers lol

No idea how this fight goes.

- Been close to a year since Adesanya last fought (And lost) to Strickland.
- Adesanya has lost 2 out of his last 3 fights.
- Dricus is on a 9-fight win streak, 7 of which were UFC fights.

Both fighters will no doubt bery very very motivated. Dricus 1st belt defense and Adesanya will be fairly desperate to get his MW title back.

Very interesting fight, I won't be surprised by either fighter getting their hand raised. Hoping it does not go the distance as that eliminates any dodgy judging possibilities etc.
