I am not sure weather military personal in US swing left or right but this oath is intriguing

Apparently US Military personal swear allegiance to the constitution, not any one party or person. its to protect the people.

This is just a couple articles:

but there are several i can source

Is there potential for this given Trumps slowly testing his powers by deploying national guard on non civilians as well as civilians.

As well i dont think Hegseth's 'speech' to Military admirals, commanders and generals sat well with them. Some with purple hearts, some permanently wounded in battle, having the youngest most inexperienced guy in the room telling them how its going to be going forward..

Interested Canadian looking from the outside in.

Dont get me wrong, I love the USA and still travel there. I have family there.

The large majority of the military is conservative not left wing. So its not going to happen they will let the courts and congress fight it out which is what they are supposed to do.

To have and keep a free states the military has to be controlled by the people not the people controlled by the military.

Your worries are unfounded. Dial your TDS down about 2 notches.

Highly unlikely IMO.

For one, it's never happened in US history and with the possible exception of the very early years, probably never even come close. So we're not even sure what that would look like here.

Most importantly, I can't imagine a scenario where large numbers of the military would be in favor of it. If Trump steps up his authoritarianism and orders something truly drastic, maybe a group of generals could step up and decide to do something about it. But another group would certainly back him and all of a sudden, you got two different camps squaring off.

But getting to that point is very unlikely. Trump is going after easy, defenseless targets in the undocumented immigrants. Very unlikely for the military to get emotional over that group.

Who are the common “non-civilians” Trump is sending the National Guard after?

A couple is always possible, to ask that question in the first place isn't very illuminating.

The US military has always stood out for its separation from power compared to other countries, but that's unfortunately really shifted in recent years.

The males in the US military are very right wing

the females though lean liberal from what I understand

Looking at the rounding applause from the Generals las week,

We still have some time..

The newly unlisted, yes.

But not the ones in charge for the last two decades.

Political leaning for service members vary just like with everyone else.

Older enlisted tend to go right

Juniors vary a lot.

Officers tend to go more left.

Most are either in the middle or a Political.

I don't see your point. The courts and congress can't do shit if Trump doesn't listen to them. The question is if Trump continues to escalate his unlawful orders to the military, will they break with him and defy orders?

Traditional conservatives (which most generals are) are LESS likely to go along with unlawful orders than a lib.

Anything is on the table at this point, and no one really knows how this shit show is going to turn out. The only thing I can say for certain is that things are going to get worse.

Trump and co aren't conservative

The reason the branches all operate autonomous from each other is for this reason. The probability of gaining backing of multiple branches of the service are nearby impossible. The militarized police and guard also offer a challenge. Then factor in armed civilians and a coup is statistically impossible.
That's for a successful coup. To hold a city for a little while it's easy but won't end well
