Infowars And Alex Jones Banned On Multiple Online Platforms

They shut of h3h3 podcast because he was talking about Alex Jones......That's some bullshit.

I wonder if it's an algorithm that shut em down, if so, that's kind of interesting, if they created an algorithm that prevented people from talking about certain subjects.....Maybe it was some Youtube nobody who was overly sensitive and shutdown the stream.

So I'm going to assume you aren't going to answer the question. I'm left to assume you feel one is bad (Alex jones being banned), while the other is good ( the NFL making rules that players must stand).

I don't follow the NFL situation. I just know that they protest during the anthem. I think it's counterproductive. In my opinion a silly idea, but I support them to do this.

Sargon: This is disturbing and it will continue [...]

It seems they are not allowed to stream live anymore. This is indeed BS. So your information has to pass a filter process first and only if they like what you want to say you are allowed to speak.

wow

These clowns are getting banned on purpose so they can go in perpetual victim mode. Same like on this forum.

It's not strange to you that he was banned on different platforms at the same time?

So the biggest social media sites in the world got together and banned him at the same time.

They should be competing with each other, not working together right?

And for all the super unbiased folks saying it's "private companies", do these private companies take any government/taxpayer funds?

How does that go against what I said?

I wasn't aware of much of the stuff he said and done but watching the first 10 seconds of this great video all I can say is, good riddance!

He makes shit up on the fly....This video is a perfect example of that lol.

As long as you are being consistent then there's no problem here. I feel the situations are similar due to in both cases we have organizations taking money and receiving pressure form government officials to take action. We will just have to disagree on them being first amendment issues.

Apple, Facebook, Spotify, YouTube (Google) all banned Infowars within 12 hours of each other, all companies citing that Infowars engages in 'hate speech'.

Each social media platform said Monday that it had removed content from Jones or InfoWars because it had violated their policies. The companies' moves shut down key distribution channels that had given the controversial media figure easy access to millions of internet users.

The most dramatic action came last, from YouTube, which is owned by Google (GOOGL). It removed many top channels associated with InfoWars, including The Alex Jones Channel, which had 2.4 million subscribers and videos that were viewed over 1.5 billion times.

"When users violate ... policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts," said a spokesperson for YouTube.

So now that Infowars has been taken down, how much longer until Fox News and Breitbart is deemed by big tech to not be allowed to exist?

HOW DOES NOBODY FIND IT STRANGE THAT COMPETING COMPANIES BANNED HIM AT THE SAME TIME?

I'm not a fan. But would like to read/view his opinion if I so choose.

They probably decided, as competitors, to do so - most likely on the recommendation of an industry board. That's not illegal. These companies have joint boards for issues like public relations and industry ethics standards.

Industry boards plan for joint actions that's a hell of a lot more economic/competition-related than this shit lol.

Lol. I didn't say it was illegal Mr. Defensive.

An industry board? You're just teasing me now. "Industry ethics standards"?
Now you're just making shit up.

You sound like every story about Trump.

They probably....
Most likely...
Anonymous sources....

Lol.

You acted like it was unprecedented and that you couldn't understand it.

I explained it to you and explained why it has precedent.

I'm not sure what you're not understanding or why this is a surprise to you. Every major industry has boards and organizations to deal with issues facing the industry as a whole that are staffed by representatives from competing companies. From my experience, the two primary issues that these boards face are (a) lobbying the government and predicting and responding to government regulation, and (b) dealing with public image issues, deciding on collective discontinuation of certain products and services, and financing joint public relations expenditures. For instance, after the creation of the EPA, chemical manufacturers' boards were the primary instrument in organizing joint efforts among competitors.

Ever see those "Got Milk?" ads? Notice how they don't mention specific milk processors? That's because it's jointly funded by competing market participants.

Lol.

Hey, I just pointed out the completely logical and likely justification for something that apparently bewildered you.

You're free to believe whatever conspiracy theory about liberal business cabals suit your fancy.

Jesus.
In your experience?
So they don't actually exist?

Your actual defense of you being completely wrong is Got Milk?

Lol, if that's all you got out of what I said, I give up here.
Have fun screaming at the sky.
How am I screaming at the sky? I see right wingers breaking the rules then screaming persecution. I'm just pointing it out.
